Ok so I'm going into my senior year in a couple weeks and have no idea what to do for college. My GPA is probably around 2.9 UW and 3.0-3.2 weighted. I just took my SAT and scored 630 on reading, 570 on math, and 560 on writing (1760 total). I would say that my GPA is average and my SAT is above average. I live in California and I'm not sure where I would get accepted. Would I be better off going to community college for 2 years? Please help me. I'm clueless. Thanks!

Oh and if I decide to go to community college for 2 years and do well, would I have a chance to get into a good university such as UCLA?

You are undoubtedly 4-year college material. Your GPA is low for most of the UCs (calculate it according to the UC weighting system: it needs to be at least 3.0 for you to be eligible for any UC). Provided it is over 3.0, you are probably qualified for UC Merced, UC Riverside, and possibly Santa Cruz. Otherwise, look into some of the CSUs, other than San Diego or San Jose. If you aren’t concerned about finances, then I think you have a decent shot at Whittier. You could also look outside of CA if your family can afford out-of-state tuition. Evergreen State College in Washington has near-open admissions. You have a shot at a lot of public colleges outside of CA, and many small private colleges.
