I have read there is very little in terms of food selection, is there any truth behind this?

I am interested specifically in this mostly because variety is everything to me. Being able to do new things is what keeps me energized and eating the same food over and over again isn’t very appetizing to me.

I can only comment eating there on a Saturday for a prospective student event. We are in their old dining facility. The new one isn’t open get but the building is beautiful with a mezzanine level. Anyway it was lunchtime but they still had a breakfast/omelette station but only one hot meal turkey choice. They had a soup/sandwich prep area and a salad bar. Three little choices for dessert. I wondered if during the week if they had more choices.

My son LOVES the food choices. When I eat there, I really enjoy the omelet bar and salad bar. I haven’t dined at the new Mines Market yet (in the new Elm Hall), but it’s the same contract company, just in a new location. There are a lot of selections…not like in the 80s when hubby and I had two choices of entrees at our college! It’s set up like a food court. There’s an ice cream cooler with about six choices, pizza bar, Belgian waffle maker, many drink choices, vegetarian choices, and some Halal and gluten-free options, among others.

Plus, depending on the food plan, you can do “exchanges” several times per week at Digger Den (includes Pizza Hut), Subway, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels - all around campus in other buildings. The favorite thing to do in the residence halls on a Sunday is go on a “Naked Run” to Digger and use up unused weekly exchanges for a Naked bottled smoothie. You can use 3 meal exchanges per day. Plans also come with “Munch Money” where you can buy anything - candy, stuff not included in meal plans, a meal for a friend, etc.
