<p>I think a lot of the decisions depends on your major. I was waitlisted to Davis for the neurobiology, physiology and behavior major. I have a 3.9 UC gpa, 32 ACT. A good amount of AP classes. Good essays, great ECs with leadership positions, etc. My friend applied for the Econ major or something like that and got in with a 3.4 gpa and downward trend with grades. 31 act. Good ECs, okay essays. It’s kind of upsetting too because UCD was my dream school and she could care less but she’s enrolling there since she has no other options. :/</p>
<p>Oh and I was also waitlisted to ucsb which was my second choice. I’m now waiting on irvine - 3rd choice. If I get waitlisted there too… Oh my gosh I don’t even know. I’m going to be a nervous reck when they send out waitlisted students’ final admissions decisions.</p>
<p>I don’t think it’s coincidence that non-asians can have a lower gpa but still get in over an asian with a high gpa. I’m asian ■■■.</p>

that is so weird and i feel bad for you because i got into davis with the same major and slightly lower stats than you. i had a lot of extracurriculars though, a lot, and what i consider good essays. for me though, irvine is my top and if i could, id give you my admission to davis haha</p>
