i just realized how much anime has in common w/ Engineering

I used to watch an anime called Dragonball Z during middleschool, and even in HS. And I've also had an interest in Nuclear Engineering. After researching a bit more on Nuclear Energy and other related stuff I just realized DBZ and Nuc E have lot of things in common.

wow

except that DBZ defies every single law of physics. Other than that, yeah--maybe haha

"have lot of things in common."

ok maybe not a lot, but they are slightly similar.

For ex:

The nucleus of some metals can be split. A good example is uranium. This splitting process is called nuclear fission. When the nucleus of uranium atom split some of the neutrons escape which then also crashes into other uranium atoms. This causes huge amounts of energy to be released. In a nuclear power station this energy is used to produce electricity. The US gets 22% of its electricity from Nuclear energy. My state, PA uses 36% and the state next to mine, NJ uses 50%.

When atoms are squeezed together, the process is called nuclear fusion. A good example is hydrogen gas. Fusion also releases huge amounts of energy as well.
The Sun’s enormous energy comes from the fusion of hydrogen atoms; which creates larger helium atoms.

Nuclear is much cheaper and cleaner than natural gas. With the high oil prices and stuff there seems to be a future for nuclear in the US.

The way DBZ characters create or release their energy seems very similar. Imagine Goku or Vegeta as hydrogen atoms. And imagine the power level of Gogeta, and his Kamehameha wave. Or think about the energy that Goku gets from the sun using the technique he learned from the Kai. The main common item is Energy.
Nuclear explosions are created through fusion or fission or a combination of both.
In the fictional world of DBZ, the saiyans and the other characters have bodies that are like nuclear stations and plants.

I don't ever want to see anime and nuclear engineering compared ever again. Bad, Bad, Bad, Horrible, Horrific stereotype.

both are dominated by Asians

Asian sensation.

Yeah, and they discovered Pokemon 180 miles off the coast of Costa Rica.

gotta catch em all!

POKEMON!

Go, Pikachu!! THUNDERBOLT ATTACK!!

Hmm if anime is like nuclear physics and pokemon is like STDs (gotta catch em all), then that means nuclear physics is like STDs. there has to be some fallacy of logic in there.

btw I think you discovered something hear; I demand you contact the Princeton Tokamak and immediately inform them of the new season of Naruto. FUSION WILL BE DONE!

Pokemon- i see no relationship w/ Nuc E
