Hi. Yes I am looking for a path In CS. I am very good In maths and take International Advanced Maths which is the most advanced course available, (going down) comes extended and then core…

It’s much harder for international to be accepted to prestigious colleges in USA. But for CS major there are lots of schools that are excellent for that major and are not as selective. UIUC, Michigan, Purdue, etc. In USA, you will do well at these public institutions, you don’t have to go to Ivy League.

I am assuming it is everyone’s target to go to ivy leagues… Just wanted to know if i am on the right track…

@Tier1:

It seems that you are assuming a lot of things.

Anyway, don’t burn out.

Many of the publics are stellar in CS. They won’t provide good fin aid to internationals, though.

This is incorrect for US students. I don’t know how it is for you; if you know for a FACT (not just rumor or what somebody’s friend told you) that employers in your country won’t even look at you unless you have a degree from an Ivy, then obviously that’s what you have to shoot for. But if you want to work in the US after you graduate, there are many schools other than Ivies that are extremely well-respected. For CS in particular, as others have said, there are several schools that are very well known and are not Ivies. But as an international student, the issue of how to pay for college may be the most important factor since you won’t get the financial aid that US students get.
