I like Yale. Yale likes me. Chance me.

1) Co-founder/president of my high school Young Republicans Club
2) Vice-President of my HS's FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), in which I've won two state awards and two regional awards in competitions.
3) Representative to my county's Association of Student Councils, elected from my school, appointed to Public Relations Manager of this organization.
4) Stage-crew and/or actor in three school productions (soon to be five)
5) Volunteered with the Special Olympics in my county
6) Competed in several computer-programming competitions at regional, state, and national levels.</p>

<p>Technology
Here is my "strength" what will set me apart:
I have self-taught myself how to create websites from scratch. I've been the website designer/manager/producer for ten websites. This is the activity that I've invested my life in basically for the last three years. I've done my school's website, I've done local and state-wide business websites, I've done small companies, I've done student-government and sports websites, I've done it all.
I'm the Production Manager of an entirely student-run company called 'Stang Software, meaning that one other student and I are in charge of twenty or so other technology-oriented students in creating websites, playbills for the high schools, and other pamphlets. Personally, I am in charge of writing contracts, managing my employees, and conducting face-to-face meetings with my clients (who are three times my age more often than not!)
I am in my second year with this company and we've made thousands of dollars already with thousands more coming upon successful completion of projects. Some of the websites that I have done are affiliated with 'Stang Software but many are not.</p>

<p>Jobs
-Junior Programmer for Sofiac INC, a local software company. I worked there on several tasks for most of 2007.
-Website contractor for my county's library system. I code miscellaneous portions of the website and get paid significantly more than nearly all hourly jobs I have heard of HS juniors or seniors get</p>

<p>Church
-I am actively involved in my church (common attribute, I know)
-I am a member of my church's Session, the ruling body of the church. I am the Youth-Representative with full voting rights.
-Within the Session, I am on a committee aimed mainly at coordinating youth events
-Member of the Baltimore Presbytery Youth Council, a group of twelve HSers representing all Presbyterian within the "Baltimore Presbytery," a collection of 75 local churches. We plan retreats, youth rallies, among other smaller events.</p>

<p>Thank you all for reading this long post. Feel free to leave a comment or ten.</p>

<p>Um... nice chances???</p>

<p>Prez Dunn! Are you applying early!!</p>

<p>I'm not applying early. I'm applying early at BC because they have a scholarship program only open to those that apply early.
I was between applying early at BC or Yale and went with BC. Can I assume from that response that you're applying early?</p>

<p>i know who you areeeeee prezzy dunz</p>

<p>lezzy fun!</p>

<p>^it rhymes fyi</p>

<p>I think you have a good shot. The test scores and GPA are good, so that's a nonissue. You have pretty good ECs it seems, I think it's a matter of how you present them. Make sure you really sell them on a few things that you devote the most of your time to, rather than dilute your application with a laundry list of minor ECs and awards (I'm not suggesting you're doing that now, but just as a warning not to). </p>

<p>Overall I'd say you're a competitive applicant.</p>

<p>did you get in?</p>

<p>^^^^Did you???</p>

<p>no he did not :(</p>

<p>but he rocks my world!</p>
