I was asking a question lokuaz .There is a black history art competition here in Florida. The winner gets to meet the governor, and receives an award and scholarship.

I still don’t understand how your situation prevents ECs. I play piano at home. I program at home. I build things at home. These are all ECs. I run outside. There is nothing complicated needed to do these, just passion…

^ I honestly thought the only ECs they would consider is something done under a school umbrella. My school program sadly doesn’t offer anything. I will create my own ECs then for now :).

^ Toriart my post was also a question, not directed to you actually, i just based it on your post, i wanted to know how much would my chances of getting in would improve by having said recommendations

Oh, ok lokuaz.

From every adcom I know, here’s the deal: Only get the rec letter if you think the Governor can give the admissions committee insight on your character. A generic letter cannot help your application. Adcoms would much rather see a very specific rec from a teacher (a bit complicated here - but should help if you’re switching schools) than a generic rec from the president.

Ancalagon4554 oh,ok.
