Sewanee seems like a good school for my major and I have been in touch with admissions. They have good aid too. But what’s up with this:
According to some sites the acceptance rate in the last two years has been around 60-66% ish. And usually unis with this acceptance rate have a lower sat and gpa range as they’re not as selective. Does anyone know how sewanee’s acceptance rate seems so high? Thanks
May be some self-selection going on. i.e. Sewanee is such a unique place that only kids who really want to go there are applying.
The admissions rate is around 65% with an average SAT around 1280. The UW GPA is 3.7.
Agree on self selection - I can’t imagine they get a lot of applications from the “let’s apply as a flyer” category. The setting, size and culture is at least from what I have seen pretty distinct.
