I am a senior and so many people are getting into amazing schools because thay went to easy school, play sports, were born into wealthy american families... and i only got into syracuse, and it looks like it will be my only option. I applied to 22 schools, and i am smart, I know it, but my parents didn´t make me play sports (and didn't have the money to pay for tennis lessons, so I couldn't get into my school's tennis team), i'm foreign, and it's so depressing that literally all people I know are getting into good schools because they knew how to play this game right, and I am going to attend some unknown college and will never make us many money as my parents, and will not have a great life, because i'm foreign with an accent...
isn't this whole college process sooo depressing?

I never had any help either, and many of my friends didn’t/don’t. It’s not impossible to make it up there.

Your argument doesn’t make much sense. Athletic recruits make up a small minority of accepted students at top schools. Pretty much every, if not every, top school is need blind, so being wealthy doesn’t really matter, unless you’re very, very wealthy and your parents/extended family have made large donations. If you’re from an “easy school,” top schools don’t blame and punish you for the HS you happen to go to. Applicants are evaluated within the context of their schools, because it’s fair. Anyway, applications are hardly based purely on GPA, so just going to an easy school doesn’t mean someone can get into Yale.

Aren’t you lucky that the “college process” is the cause of your sadness and stress? That you have no other, greater worries?

Syracuse is an Unknown School? Haha, that’s laughs.

I think you should be proud of the fact that you got into Syracuse. It’s a great school. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Relax! I know someone whose top choice is Syracuse. It’s a great school!

Just chill out :). I’m not exactly a great applicant either, at least compared to most here on CC.

Omg, you aren’t getting into an Ivy? Your life sucks.

my history teacher went to syracuse and he makes 100k + a year

I didn’t know teachers made that much. Unless he has a side job.

Syracuse is a great school. Just get the most you can out of your undergrad education, and if you do happen to find yourself still chasing after the Ivy League, just apply there for grad school. Grad matters more anyways.

What the hell? Syracuse is a great school that is recognized internationally.

Where the hell is Syracuse? Isn’t that a type of cat?

As people have said before. It’s not what school you go to that matters. It’s what you do at that school that matters.

Syracuse is well known o.O And it’s okay if you didn’t get into any ivies. In college you take all these courses that don’t always pertain to your future job anyway. So your success really depends on how well you do once you set off for the real world, not college or high school. Remember, there are really famous, successful people who didn’t even get an ivy league education, let alone post secondary education!

Shut the **** up and go kill yourself. Seriously nobody cares about your *****ing.
