<p>To calculate your UC GPA, count only sophomore through senior year grades. Throw out the grades from PE or driver's ed, or other classes they don't teach in college. Art does count.
The UCs use a 4pt scale, so if you were counting on that C in an AP class looking like a B, think again. They consider the number of AP classes you take separately from the GPA. Mention this to younger siblings!</p>

<p>Thanks to your posts, I checked the UCSC web page and I'm in!! Stats: 3.35 UC GPA, SAT I 1200 (so I'm definitely second tier).</p>

<p>Congrats to all of you who made it in, and best of luck to those of you still awaiting your dream school. I'm gonna go celebrate!!</p>

<p>awesome! I got accepted into UCSC also... I found out from the website.... The only thing that I'm worried about is how its a party school with hippies and smokers... that concerns me but wat the hell right?? lol I'm going there!!</p>

<p>I think the hippie/pot smoking rep is only as bad as you let it be. There are plenty of other students who aren't into that. It'll also depend on where you choose to live. Anyway, congratulations! It's an excellent school/</p>
