Hi, I’m a second semester junior and i really messed up. When i was a sophomore and basically my whole life i had all a’s and some b’s and now i have a 3.2 UW 3.7 W GPA. This current semester i am on pace for a 3.3 W at best and 2.9 UW with 2 C’s in academic classes. There’s more to this post but i cannot type much because on phone and i was wondering if this is gonna kill a lot of my collee chances when they see i ruined my junior year
Deep breaths.
In spite of what you read here, plenty of kids have survived some C’s and gone on to attend great colleges and live productive lives!
Here’s my question: what happened? (Do NOT feel as though you have to tell us, but it’s something you’ll want to consider.) Were there issues at home? Medical issues? Social issues with friends? Something else major?
Again, in spite of what you read here on CC, lots of kids have things going on that interrupt their focus and cause their grades to drop. And they survive, both physically and academically.
Is there an issue that your guidance counselor can address in his/her letter of recommendation? (She will write one for all her guidance kids; this is where outside issues are typically addressed to explain a drop in grades like the one you describe.)
Don’t feel the need to tell us the actual backstory, but rest easy— there are PLENTY of schools who will be more than happy to accept you.
I agree…figure out what went wrong.
Class too hard?
Not enough studying/homework?
Too many ECs?
Family issues?
Medical issues?
Mental Health issues?
Friend issues?
For next year, pick classes that you can excel in.
There will be a college for you.
Really try to get those C’s up…here are ideas:
