How would you decide?

Campus visits.

Well, at lot depends on what major and such you want to do.. Penn and Brown have very different atmosphere's as well.. it all really comes down to personal preference and where you think you'll be the happiest for 4 years..

I would definitely suggest campus visits as well

I visited both last year (when I was a sophomore and my brother was deciding on where to go for transfer) and I liked Penn a lot better. But that is probably because I'm a city girl and can't deal with living in Providence, which is a smaller city. I need my skyscrapers! It depends on you though. Brown has a really nice atmosphere, but Penn excited me more.

Penn has an amazing atmosphere.. everyone loves being here and it really shows through.. and plus, we didn't get the reputation of being the social ivy for nothing ;)

Can you be more specific? If anyone reading this was accepted to both and chose one over the other, can you please tell me why?

Praguer: I'm not overly familiar with brown, but the impression that I got there was a veryy liberal (and that's coming from someone who considers themself pretty liberal) and just incredibly laid back.. the lack of real curriculum really turned me off there..

and like I said before, Penn just has an incredbily vibrant atmosphere.. I found a lot of college campuses to be fairly apathetic.. Penn is completely the opposite.

Either way, I highly suggest you visit both and talk to people (I walked up Locust walk and randomly asked people questions.. get some good insight into what the school is really like)

Thanks mnasy1122! Can you also compare Penn with Yale?

Penn :) simple answer :)
