My dream school is Duke. I will list my stats below but other than Duke (where I will apply early), I loved Yale, Penn, Dartmouth and Georgetown. I am hoping to find a safety school where I can be happy. Sorry the post is so long:

UNC restricts the total number of slots for OOS to something less than 20%. I understand that getting into UNC from OOS is almost as competitive as getting into Duke itself.

I will be in 8th grade in August. It has been my dream since I was 8 to be an AF Pilot and hopefully attend AFA in 2010. I would like your advise as in what classes to take in High School? I am also wondering if I should attend the prep school first?

futureAFA, go over to the Military Academies link on this site, then scroll over to the AFA link and ask your question. DocFrance will most likely answer. Keep your grades up, get involved in athletics, clubs and try to become a leader in something. AFA likes Eagle Scouts, Boys State, Civil Air Patrol to name a few good outside organization. The spring of your junior year apply to the academy summer programs. For classes, try to get into as many AP classes that your High School offers. The prep school is offered only if the AFA wants you, but your stats (math/english need a boost) come up a little short. You can't apply specifically to the prep school.

Am I missing something? 1 AP junior year at a highly competitive school and a 1420 (they probably won't look at writing this year) does not seem like it woukld make Duke or UNC strong shots I agree that Wake and Davidson are more likely.

I'm taking 5 APs next year and admission into AP classes at my school is highly selective. To be able to take an AP class, people must pass an entrance exam and get letters of recommendation for each class. Also, the AP test average at my school is a 4.5
