I need help sifting through majors!

Its been nerve-racking as the spring semester draws near! Im starting up college once more [been out for about a year now, due to out-of-state tuition fees] and i havent a clue what i want to do in life. Im sure that's the slogan-of-the-year for every college bound student, but im aware of what i find ideal in a job. OH! Im 20 years old, if that's helpful?

Hands-on, fast moving, hard work appeals to me the most.

We've been renovating our current house for the past year, and i love witnessing progress. I wish i had the tools [and certificate, or whatever] that is needed to do demolition and remodeling professionally. I dont want to be a designer, or an architecture... i want to be the person that looks at the plans and makes it work!

Ive worked at starbucks and i LOVE the intensity in the morning. You go into work then BOOM- youre stressed! Then, before you know it, the shift is over.

As far as hard work is concerned, i've always been passionate about any job i do. My first job was a bagger, but i made sure i was the best i could possibly be. I dont like to sit still, and i always go the extra mile [deck scrubbing floors when i have spare time at work, fixing things.. etc.]

THOSE traits are what i hold dear to my work. I dont think the field of work matters at the end, because i dedicate myself entirely wherever i end up. I just want a job that matches those criterias... and possibly a career that doesnt allow lazy-moochers to work on the same field as me :P

...any suggestions?

Maybe look at a management position for a restaurant or hotel. The hospitality industry since your working at Starbucks you should know is quite intense at times.

Thanks for replying, since youre the only one that did, lol. I forgot to mention i dont care too much for being responsible for everyone; i just want to be the bottom girl that does the scrap work and still gets a decent amount of pay.

No such thing as decent pay for the bottom girl. I don’t mean to be harsh, but if you want to make money, you usually need to take on responsibility. That’s what pays.

Business Entrepreneurship?

Construction Management?

EMT work? Nursing? Electricians? Police officers? The military?

It really sounds like you want to be a contractor but since you asked about majors, have you looked at bachelor’s degree programs in Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Planning and Environment, that sort of area? What state would give you in-state tuition?
