I know the type of genuises that hang around here, but I really need some advice on the critial reading section of both the ACT and SAT I, and I guess critical reading in general. So I usually get above average scores on Math and Writing (usually above 600), but I always do really poorly on the critical reading (sometimes even as low as 450). I always get good grades in english, and never got below a C in any class. So what the hell is wrong with me? I doubt I have dyslexia because then I would do poorly in all areas of reading. Critical Reading has ALWAYS been my weak point, I mean english was my second language, but I doubt that has affected me THAT much. Since I'm good at writing/grammer shouldn't I be good at Critical Reading too? I admit I almost never read on my leisure time, but I know tons of other people who never read and get 650's and above on the C.R. what do you guys think?

i think it is crucial that you read a lot in order to score well on CR

get on that

also study the form of questions for passages in the blue book

Read.

And figure out which types of questions you get wrong by taking a practice test.
