I Need Serious Study Help from Students with 90+ GPAs and sleep ~6 or more hrs/night

I made this thread because there doesn’t seem to be an official study tips thread anywhere… This should be pinned.
I am a sophmore at a very competitive high school. So naturally I’m very sleep deprived. I would like to become more efficient in my study methods. I’m not afraid to work my ass off. Please feel free to leave all kinds of suggestions no matter how unusual or unorthodox they may be. I’m a very hard working student, who’s willing to try anything. Please try to be very specific and be detailed in your descriptions/explanations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sophomore year was the busiest for me. But I’m not a sophomore, I’m a senior, and it’s coming close- but most of the work this year is tedious, no-point-to-it, busy work.

I have a 0 period (stupidly), so I usually shoot for 5 or 6 hours of sleep. 7 on a good day and if I’m not stupid enough to watch something on TV.

I do when my teacher tells me to or if I feel like the book won’t give me sufficient notes and instead will just give me tedious information.

Write notes, read the textbook, actually listen, ask questions, think about what you just heard after class, etc.

I lead up to the night before- if say today is Tuesday and I’m told an exam is on Friday, I’ll do Tuesday night w/ half an hourish just simple looking over notes or thinking about the material, Wednesday night might be an hourish, I’ll write some notes and do some “problems” or “applications”, Thursday night I will study probably for at least two hours. It really depends on the exam and the class. AP classes, chapter/unit exam, I’ll study for at least two hours probably if I have the time and feel like I need to.

I take notes, do multiple-choice questions, and just flat out think about it.

Write excessively, think and repeat, don’t cram with memorization. Say for a vocabulary test every Friday, you get the list Monday- write flashcards Monday night, look them over every night for 5 minutes at the most, then study more on Thursday night before the quiz.

I usually start off with whatever homework takes the longest or most critical thinking, then work my way through to the least important, or just busy work that I hate to do.

If I’m studying for an exam though, usually I’ll finish the tedious work first then spend the rest of the night studying for the exam.

I do it, prioritize, beast it, and get it done. No excuses.

I eat my lunch, drink water, have multiple snacks throughout the day, and stretch.

I do it, beast it, and get it done. Doing it and finishing it is better than not doing it, getting a 0, and not getting the grade- that’s my thought process.

I only play(ed) one sport, cross country in the fall. Practice ended around 4:30, I’d get home around 4:45, go upstairs, turn on my computer, eat a quick meal, do homework, maybe eat another quick meal with both my parents, go back to doing homework, take a shower, and go to sleep. If you have a lot of activities that require a LOT of time, the only way to deal with it is just to try and handle it, and realize that sometimes you have to give up watching that TV show you watch every week or going on Facebook or whatever.

I keep a planner and write everything down so I don’t forget, and I basically just try and do some every night, or try and at least do the majority of on the weekend (if you have one).

Really, less procrastination, better study habits, and more sleep is just all about self-discipline.

11

7.5

main points for history, exactly whats on the board for math

I review by using CDs that came with my history book, math go over main concepts and review a problem or two from each section. make sure i go over the ones i dont know how to do

I manage my time by getting a white board and writing down exactly what i have to do for each day of the week. That way i can get everything in and dont forget anything.
6.I study by doing my homework when it is assigned WELL, asking questions, and going over key points

memorization of what? It’s really broad.

I prioritize by knowing the teacher and the consequences if I don’t hand in something on time for that particular person. If I can’t get all my **** done, then I save some for the next morning or don’t do the one I know the teacher will be ok with.

I’ve gotten in the habit of doing stuff right away when i get home from school. That way, when I’m not doing work it feels kinda awkward (I know it sounds weird). Also, the wife off board in my room really helps with laying out and time management.

distracted in what context?

COLLEGE. I really want to apply to this one program and every once in a while i get “Scared” into doing better work.

Wipe off board and make sure I’m not half assing my time when I’m doing work. Sit down and do it. Don’t check facebook and that crap while youre trying to get your stuff done.

This is harder. I have yet to learn this. I usually take a weekend and do work and make sure i get done what I know i have to get done.

This year ive had a really hard english teacher who wants to “prepare us for college” by giving us an insane amount of reading/writing to do. This really helped me with time management and my grades are actually better now that I have more work. 3.7F>>4.2S>>4.8This year

the biggest tip i have besides getting a wipeoff board is to TAKE TIME OFF. when you feel like you are getting burned out (and if that is early 1st semester than that just blows because you’re screwed) then just take a day off or something to “reset.” I did this a month ago over the weekend and I’ve felt so much better since.

10th

on average, i would say about 7, it works for me but about once every week and a half or so, i get 3 or 4 hours of sleep. tonight, i will most like not sleep at all because i severely procrastinated on studying for my apush final.

i dont take notes in class, i just listen. except, in my math class, always take notes in a math oriented class.

i have a really good memory i guess so i just read over stuff for every subject except for math + chemistry. in those subjects, its all about practicing.

i usually study 20 min. a day for a few days before and an hour or more (depending on how important the test is) the day before.

look back to number 4.

i make very weird examples for everything. also, try to visualize things in your head, like orbitals in chemistry and stuff like that. repetition sort of helps too.

i usually do the easiest first.

yes, that terrible disease is horrendous, umm well i deleted my facebook and myspace and that shortened my procrastination time quite a bit. i also turn off my phone while studying/ doing hmwk. cc is hard to stay off though.

i think about my goals and how im going to get here. and then i say to myself, “my dream school is not going to impressed with someone who is lazy to do their work”. its nerdy, but it works .

look back at number 11. also, running helps to clear up your mind and really gets you pumped up if you run long enough.

most of my stuff is on the weekend or on a friday. i dont really like to do much during the week anyway.

science fair is going to be the death of me this year, im not even kidding. i might lose my 4.0 over it. try to do just a little bit in the days right after you receive the assignment. most of the time, i just do it a few days or the day before its due.

What grade are you in currently?
11

How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night?
Average is about 4-7, depending

What is your system for taking class notes?
I’m not too big on class notes, as I learn better by reading the material on my own and outlining it as I go along. I find that if I’m taking notes in class, I focus less on actually trying to understand the material, and then when I look over my notes and there’s something I don’t get. I think, “why didn’t I ask the teacher? oh yeah, I was too busy writing all this down to think about what he/she was saying.” The same might not hold true for you, but for me, it’s better to just listen and ask questions.

What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently?
It depends on the subject. If it’s history, then I read from my APUSH prep book or look over his notes (like I should be doing), or reread things I need to brush up on. For math, I just do a few problems, but that comes really easily to me. For science, I like to read the chapter and do the problems. English is usually just reading quizzes, so sparknotes or something like that. I don’t really study for many other classes.

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time?
For science, I don’t study until the day before. Come to think of it, unless it’s an essay or research paper or something like that, I don’t really do anything ahead of time. Tests and whatnot happen practically everyday. I need to focus on tomorrow before next week. And we usually only get a few day’s notice for tests.

How exactly do you study?
Depends on the subject. Typically though, reading and note-taking

What tips do you use to help with memorization?
**I’ve gotten so good at this. Every week, we have a vocab quiz in English, and I’m now able to memorize 20 word lists in about 10 minutes. The best thing to do is to associate whatever your memorizing with something… memorable lol. For example, surcingle means a strap that ties something to a horse’s body. I think of the word “jingle” and as it’s Christmas time, I think of a reindeer with some bells on it. I don’t know, it works for me. **

In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload?
I typically do my math homework first since it’s the easiest and least annoying. Then I do science/history. Then I do English. None of this has to do with ease though. It’s just what I enjoy vs. dislike. But like if I have some stupid assignment for Spanish or some non-class, then I don’t bother to do it until the next day. Prioritizing involves planning ahead though. For instance, if I have a huge exam in history, it might be smart to do my other homework a night before so I can devote the next for history. USE YOUR PLANNER! You’ll realize how much time you have, and the best way to do things.

In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you?
I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t help you with this one. I’m still fighting it. As you might tell, I’m not winning, being on here and all.

How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work?
I actually get more done at school than at home. I recently transferred to the school I’m going now, and don’t have friends to distract me that much. I don’t mind it though, because I get a ton of stuff done at school. At home, I end up talking to friends and stuff like I would’ve been at school, so that ends up slowing me down a lot. Chances are if you’re too distracted to do your work, it’s not important enough to be working on. That sounds horrible, I know, but listen. If you can’t bring yourself to do your work, then have some fun. Why fret about not doing it? Go out and have some fun, and then finish your work. Or instead of going out, do something else productive. Read a book, study for the SAT, study for AP exams, etc. You’ll feel a lot better about not doing your schoolwork if you’re still being productive. And in the end, you’ll have more done.

How do you motivate yourself to do work? (I’m really bad at making myself do work or take any action at all. I’m all talk )
Sometimes the only motivation is the deadline, in which case, do something productive while procrastinating. But yes, it is very hard to motivate yourself

How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.?
Again, that’s doing something productive. You’d probably be procrastinating while you did those activities. But how to balance? Don’t put too much on your plate, don’t waste too much time. ECs can be very demanding depending on what you’re doing, so just use your discretion.

Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)?
This is probably the one thing where you can’t get away doing it last minute. Luckily, there are usually vacations between when these types of things are due, and that’s when I typically do them.

junior

7 on average

I take notes in a spiral .. taking notes on loose paper is a recipe for losing them. I usually write in black ink and then use other colors to emphasize points.

Depends on the subject…for math I rework problems…subjects like history/english I reread the chapters or my notes on the chapters. sometimes I make “study guides” that have important things for me to remember and I review them whenever I get the chance in school.

If it’s history or english, I start rereading a few nights before the test. Math…i usually rework some (maybe 5-7) problems from each section we’ve learned just to refresh my memory.

No music, sitting on the floor or on my bed. Definitely not near the computer…that tends to be really distracting.

Usually i try to visualize things in my head … I draw diagrams too.

Math/science first .. it’s easiest to make silly mistakes on those when you’re tired.

Writing a weekly schedule. And I don’t distract myself too much with facebook or AIM or whatever.

I keep my cell phone in my purse and don’t check it often. Otherwise I feel like I might get distracted by texts or something. I don’t know what other motivation there is aside from trying to finish work in school so that I have more time for dance and things at home.

^ same as that I guess…you just have to push yourself.

If you manage your time well ( I know that sounds cliche) you’ll find you have time for everything. I try to finish homework off in school if I have a few minutes because that means the material is still fresh and I’d spend 5 minutes as opposed to 15 when I got home. For me personally, I spend most of my free time doing dance or playing the piano.

Science fair is probably my most demanding commitment along with research papers, and the key to those is starting way ahead and finishing them. I usually finish science fair (at least the actual research stuff) over the summer.

But I have a couple of AP/IB classes, so hopefully I can still be helpful.

I actually tracked this last week! 7.58.

I have a notebook for each class. And then I take notes with a multicolored pen. It helps me focus and motivates me to write neatly… and it’s fun to study later on.

I read stuff over, and then I do review worksheets. Basic.

I procrastinate until the last day. On that last day, I am very motivated and study very, very efficiently.

I read. For history, I read my notes and try to summarize answers to main thematic questions.

I’m not the best memorizer in the world, more of a synthesizer- I can get a lot out of a little bit of info- just keep it interesting, hum things or color your notes in while you study them ^.^

I do my easiest stuff to get it out of the way so I can focus on big assignments.

None so far! Restricting the internet has worked in the past.

I don’t really have this problem.

Oooh same! I try to set it up as a friendly competition between me and one of my friends. And then we motivate each other!

I cut into sleep time. 7.5 hrs feels like so little to me, I’m designed to operate on about 9

Didn’t I already say, I don’t! I procrastinate!

I get the feeling I wasn’t very helpful to you was I… I filled this out because I like questionaires. Hopefully you can mine something out of this ^.^

What grade are you in currently?
10th

How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night?
6-7

What is your system for taking class notes?
Depends on the class. If it’s math, I usually just close my eyes and sketch the example my teacher is doing in my mind.

What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently?
I remember main concepts and the details just follow with them,

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time?
I would go home and read over it and on the last day I would go over it again.

How exactly do you study?
I’ll ask myself “Hm, was this chapter NOT complete BS?” If the answer was no, then I reread and figure out why I don’t feel complete.

What tips do you use to help with memorization?
When you do your test, position it on the left side of your table. You access your memory like that. or maybe someone lied to me D:.

In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload?
I do half one one assignment and move on to the rest to figure out which one will take the most time.

In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you?
Tell yourself “just start,” then “just keep going.”

How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work?
I try to stop thinking of other things and just focus.

How do you motivate yourself to do work? (I’m really bad at making myself do work or take any action at all. I’m all talk )
lol, I think of an exciting reward.

How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.?
Usually my clubs just meet at lunch, or my sports end around 5:00. So it usually works out.

Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)?
I procrastinate, THE JOYS OF LAST MINUTE HELL = BETTER PRODUCT! YEAH!

9th

Right down everything said that sounds important and/or obscure.

We don’t do lectures…

Night before… I hate to admit it

Read over it until I feel comfortable with it… I’m pretty good at memorization

None… which works for every class except APAH…

What is most important and due soonest

Nothing… because I still do it terribly… no-dose helps the most…

I don’t really keep myself from getting distracted… it just means less time to sleep

I just sit down and start… once I get started I’m pretty productive

When I get home for the first time at 8:00pm… I still get the work done…

I’m really bad at this actually, typically I end up doing the experiments over a week… and I can make an A on a report I typed at 2 am Though with my freshman project… I have thought about writing a page a day…

What grade are you in currently? 11th.

How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night? 5.5 to 6 hr.

What is your system for taking class notes? Listen to teacher, and take notes in a random fashion in my notebook.

What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently? Practice, practice, more practice. Practice tests.

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time? Not sure. For physics and APUSH, and last year Chem, I studied days in advance. For bio, I usually do not study until the day before the test.

How exactly do you study? See #4. Also I like to go over textbook.

What tips do you use to help with memorization? Not sure about this. For vocab though, flash cards. Everything else, I just listen to the lecture and much of it is able to retain in my brain.

In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload? I don’t, lol.

In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you? Making incentives for myself to do 30 min of homework, followed by 30 min of playtime, then back to 30 min of HW, and so on. Tried this for 2 days, worked immensely well, but reverted back to my old ways.

How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work? **Just get into the work. Once I get into the work and dive into it, it actually becomes hard to majorly distract me. **

How do you motivate yourself to do work? (I’m really bad at making myself do work or take any action at all. I’m all talk ) lol, I really don’t know. I guess I tell myself that I’m really screwed if I don’t start.

How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.? I tutor until 4:30 after most days, and then I go home and sleep, allowing me to be well refreshed as I start my homework around 7.

Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)? I work ahead on the daily type homework (i.e. textbook reading and notes), which leaves me extra time on finals week to concentrate on studying. Though I don’t have many projects, that applies there too. Actually projects are always last on my list, I do a little each night before sleeping.

What grade are you in currently?

11th

How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night?

Varies a lot. Some nights I can hit as much as 10-12 hours sleep, other nights as little as 3-4.

What is your system for taking class notes?

Usually I just write down everything the teacher says. Writing in cursive helps me out here because it allows me write really fast and I can usually put down on paper 70% of the teacher’s words.

What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently?

As with wxmann, I take tons of practice tests. If those aren’t available, practice problems.

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time?

I put a goal (like finish in 3 hours.)

How exactly do you study?

I just thumb through the notes, page by page. And then the practice tests. And a quick review just before bedtime doesn’t hurt.

What tips do you use to help with memorization?

I just take a picture of the notes in my head…and it just stays there.

In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload?

-Tests first, homework second.

In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you?

This may sound weird, but I pretend that the assignment is due tomorrow and I do it. It’s strange because I am able to convince myself. O_O

How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work?

I just think “This may be graded…”

How do you motivate yourself to do work? (I’m really bad at making myself do work or take any action at all. I’m all talk )

I just think of more sleep. I love sleep.

How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.?

Schoolwork comes first, if time (usually there is), other activities.

Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)?

I do them gradually, little by little, day by day.

1. What grade are you in currently?

12th.

2. How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night?

nine to eleven. be jealous. and i go to high school part time and college full time.

3. What is your system for taking class notes?

i write the important things the teacher says, in complete sentences. i dont use the cornell method or anything like that. if my teacher writes on the board, i copy that down.

4. What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently?

i think about it and try to relate it to something that i already know. i also try to pretend that i am trying to teach someone else.

5. When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time?

i try to quiz myself and find out what i dont know. i mostly study on the weekend before the test.

6. How exactly do you study?

i almost always make flashcards.

7. What tips do you use to help with memorization?

like i said before, i make flashcards and pretend that i am teaching someone else whatever i am trying to learn.

8. In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload?

if the teacher is really strict about due dates, then thats my highest priority. generally, i just do things in the order that they are due.

9. In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you?

i tell myself that it will be easier if i just do it rather than wait. sometimes, i try to pretend that something is due sooner than it really is. but i still procrastinate fairly often.

10. How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work?

sometimes i go to bed right when i get home (two pm) and then i get up at like one or two am and work until i have to go to school. this helps because my family is asleep, so they arent bothering me. also, theres nothing good on tv.

11. How do you motivate yourself to do work?

i imagine getting rejection letters from colleges, or a bad report card or whatever. i also tell myself that the sooner i get my work done, the sooner i can go to bed. i love sleep.

12. How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.?

i try to get a lot done on the weekends, when i am not as busy.

13. Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)?

i try and work on things like that once a week. if that fails, i just do one long session. i can usually do things pretty fast. i can do a term paper in maybe seven hours.

9th

It used to be 8.5, but I don’t sleep anymore. So like 7.

I copy down whatever the teacher writes on the board… unless I know it already in which case I just sit there and listen.

I just read it over and over again. If it’s something like vocab I put word on one column of a page, definition on other column, fold the paper in half and test myself by covering one side.

I cram either on the bus the morning of, or the periods before.

I sit in a quiet room alone and read notes over and over or do the fold-paper test thing I mentioned earlier

That fold-paper thing. It owns.

I do whatever I feel like doing first…

Occasionally the things that I really priortize I don’t procrastinate on. Because I know they’re really important.

I tell myself “You have to pay attention in class. This is class. Therefore you have to pay attention.” eh whatever but it works

Um… I just do it. Once I start it’s a lot easier.

I have lots of study halls at school.

If they’re really important to me I get started pretty quickly.

Grade - 12

Hours of sleep - 8

Note-taking method - 3 subject notebook, take notes as given by teachers or use their study guides, except English (use Microsoft OneNote- excellent program)

Reinforce lectures - run over notes, repeating ideas verbally, go online and find practice problems (for math and chem)

For AP exam - start studying a month or two in advance, regular (if given a week) - start studying two days before

How to study - practice problems online, review notes verbally several times, reread chapters (for history) and take notes over everything (really tedious, but extremely helpful)

Memorization - repeat, repeat, repeat

Prioritize - start with what is due soonest, or what will take the longest (for example, this week I have a poetry essay over The Wasteland due next week, a Calc test for today, and a Hamlet test due tomorrow, and last night, I started writing the essay at 4 o’clock, studied Hamlet at 6, finished studying for the Calc test - formulas)

Procrastination - keep nagging and reminding yourself about what will happen if you listen to just one more song (for example, a fail grade, more homework for tomorrow, and staying up all night)

Distraction - keep focused, and if it gets boring, start doodling on the paper (if you’re taking notes) to keep yourself occupied and be able to listen at the same time.

Motivation - remaining at the top of the class and remembering how good it will look to be valedictorian on awards night if you keep up the good scores (yes, I know, corny), also, remembering the top college you ant to attend

Activities - prioritize, and remember class comes first. Don’t overload on activities, and don’t leave homework when there are many activities going on.

Long term - only thing I can think of is APs, and the only advice is to keep restudying older work to jog your memory and not forget it all, so the last two weeks you’re cramming to get good scores

What grade are you in currently?
I am a soph

How many hours of sleep do you get on average per night?
7=>8

What is your system for taking class notes?
I have good memory and I don’t usually take notes, just listen. But with social studies, I outline ideas and notes so that I can remember. I highlight the important ones that I guess they might be on the test ^^

What methods do you use to reinforce lectures and other class material? If so how do you review efficiently?
I usually pay attention to the teachers’ lectures, and read the whole section in the book at home. Usually, the teachers just tell you facts from the books. And as I have a good memory, I don’t really have to memorize or do anything else. Sometimes, i try to point on maps or diagrams and demonstrate the whole lesson. (just to improve my verbal ability)

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time?
I don’t study for test. Instead, I pay time to study every lessons and make sure I know all the stuff. Before the test come, I just have to pay 5min looking back through the book.

How exactly do you study?
all above

What tips do you use to help with memorization?
I have good memory. :))
But if the materials are somewhat confusing, I will create a stupid idea that help me remember. Like when I memorize the polyatomic ions, I tried to find out the similarities between certain compound. For ex: all the ones that have Sulfur have a charge of -2, all the ones that have chlorine have a charge of -1 (my stupid reason is: Chlorine has a charge of -1)

In terms of homework, how do you prioritize your workload?
It’s best to spend every minute you have at school for homework. That’s what I did at the beginning of the school year, but now… I am too lazy
I think instead of talking and hanging around, I go straight to my classes and do some of my homework right at school.
I don’t think you should sleep less and overload yourself. I usually sleep well, and concentrate on work.
I set the time with my watch, for example, doing this subject’s homework in only 20min, and try to reach it. I don’t pay too much time on projects. (I mean don’t do it too scrupulously)

In the never-ending battle with procrastination, what methods have been most effective for you?
I’m actually a 30-minute-more syndrome patient. :))

How do you keep yourself from becoming too distracted during school or when you have to do work?
i just try to do work and think about how miserable it is to work till 3 AM :D

How do you motivate yourself to do work? (I’m really bad at making myself do work or take any action at all. I’m all talk )
I use some proverbs and stick them in my head by reading out loud everyday. Then, it is just a self-discipline process

How do you balance schoolwork with your other activities such as clubs, sports, newspapers, musical ensembles etc.?
I don’t balance them very well. So … :D

Lastly, how do you manage your time long term (i.e. termpapers, projects, science fair etc.)?
Making a big plan and try to follow a self discipline project of yourself ;)

When it comes time to actually studying for a test after the date has been announced, how do you manage your time? I finish all the work related to the test ASAP, take a break and do other stuff, and one-two days before the test, I review by scanning my textbook.

How exactly do you study? Reading my textbook, just thinking about a concept…

What tips do you use to help with memorization? Flashcards.

How do you motivate yourself to do work? Thinking that I can’t stop now, after all I’ve done. That stopping is the ultimate failure.
