I need some general career/life advice?

I am currently a psychology student and I will graduate and complete my program in 2 semesters; however, I'm not sure its really what I want to do for the rest of my life. I originally started out as pre med but I interned in the ER and absolutely hated the experience. I was going to go for medical research but my financial aid has a glitch that is forcing me to graduate sooner than expected and the program would have taken me 5 instead of 4 years to complete. I have dabbled in political science classes thinking that I wanted to be a lawyer but after a semester of poli sci I realized it was not for me either. I am really interested in science and people, but I don't know if I want to do psychological research or clinical psychology or even psychology at all. I need to figure this out as I need a game plan for what I want to do. I though about going into journalism or book editing or something like that but I don't know if I can since I didn't really get an undergrad degree in those fields. Any advice?

With your psychology and bio background, you may find it interesting to look into physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech & language pathology. All of these fields require basic pre-med prerecs and some volunteer time in a clinic or school that offers these therapies. All of them have excellent career outlooks over the next decade. Physical therapy requires a DPT (doctoral degree) OT and Speech a masters degree. You can work in hospitals, schools, clinics, research, teaching. It is very meaningful work for someone who is people oriented. The grad programs are very competitive so you need to have good GRE scores, letters of rec and a 3.5+ GPA. Each specialty attracts a different type of student so it would be interesting to investigate each of them to see if you can a niche.
