I was not always in private school, I came into the my HS with a very weak foundation due to the bad middle school I came from. That is mostly why my GPA is so bad. I try to give back and help provide as much as I can for kids who want more than what they are given in their environment. Since I came from an "inner city" school that was failing, and still live somewhat in the area, I know how some of them may feel..

Do you think that I have a good shot or should I get my head out of the clouds?

Thanks

You have a great shot.

You will most likely get in being black, try and finish out with straight A’s and write a good essay. Good luck man.

I think you are a very strong candidate. However, you are going to want to describe yourself as “Principal” Violist on those college applications, not “principle”.

Thanks for the responses

@bellybones- the funny thing about that is I edited it to “fix” it to change it from principal to principle…oops

I’d say your odds of getting into Cornell are about 65%. Good luck!

Depending on what college at Cornell you are applying for. If it is Engineering or College of Arts and Science (on the Science side), it is tough.

Sorry, I didn’t see it that your are URM (black). I think you have a great chance.
