I will be taking AP English next year and would like to become a good writer for two reasons.
1. Hot Girls in the Class (Rare for AP classes)
2. Would like to get an A or B.
*but mainly because of #1.

Anyways I consider myself to be a good reader, and understand what I read quite well. The problem is in my writing. I have really good ideas, but I tend to have a hard time with grammar, and just getting the ideas to flow well.

Is there a book or something that I can read, that will improve my writing?

What type of writing do you like? I myself like fiction. If you want to become a good writer at fiction then write stories. If you want to become better at poetry then study poetry and write poetry. I myself love to read but I hate writing on topics I don't like. I would rather write fictional stories and I bet Ap English is going to be alot of Essays on themes and what not.

Well I'm thinking that I might have stated it wrong when I was saying I want to be a good writer. I'm starting to think I used the wrong word. What I meant was being a good "repsonder", write about what I read. Most of my class for AP English will be about reading and then writing an essay about what I read. So really my question should be.

How do I become a good responder?

^
I'll have to take a look at that book you linked to, perhaps I'll go up to borders tomorrow.

axelrod and cooper's guide to concise writing is a good learning book. It teaches you all about different kinds of essay writing, and it is one of the books used in eng11 college writing.
