I need to change my common app information!

Hi you guys. I just submitted my first apps to NYU and Wesleyan and I had no idea that you couldn't edit information in your common app after... I was in a hurry and believe it or not, my parents don't talk much about their education so I just put "no graduate school/degree" in my common app for my parents. I know I can just email NYU and Wesleyan about this mistake, right? (Oh my goodness will that make me seem like a huge idiot undeserving of admission...)

I heard that I need to create a whole new common app if I want to change the info. How do I do that? Does that mean that everything I've worked on is all gone in my new common app? How about my teacher recommendations and everything my school submitted to my original common app?

if you log onto the common app, you should see “Instructions” above “My Colleges” if you click on that there will be a list of topics beneath the video. If you click on “Application Versions” it will tell you how to do what you want. You can replicate your common app and edit the information on it.

Follow this link:

http://app.commonapp.org/application/applicantlogin.aspx?allowcopy=true

Login, click on Common Application on the left hand side, replicate your current version, and then just alter it suit what you need to change.
