I Play Oboe-wherefore Art Thou

We're not attacking, we're just sharing our genders :) Don't feel bad davidrune, I pegged freakish as a girl too. Though I did get ritzbitz right! Still, ambiguous names are half the fun of this forum. Once you know a person's gender, the conversation loses a part of its thrill. After alll, depending on our genders, we speak to eachother differently.

I just knew someone would reply with "oh, but we weren't attacking each other [dopey smile angel face halo etc]" I beg to differ...but anyways, it's not a big deal. Where isn't hypocrisy these days anyway.

oh great~ another one.

muahahaaha?

Everyone else is merely revealing their misconceptions. Still, I only figured out that freakish was a guy because some thread on Columbia had a similar "freakish is a guy?" tone to it. Sorry freakish, it was the banshee thing that threw me off. Perhaps it's succumbing to stereotypes but banshee has a feminine connotation to me.

Denotation too, actually:
Banshee
n.
A female spirit in Gaelic folklore believed to presage, by wailing, a death in a family.

good, so it wasn't just me going psycho with crazy ghostly images

Freakish I Miss You Already

I miss you too iplayoboe.

About the comment on the Columbia Thread, that was from someone here---, a yale member who posted on the columbia board. And I never called myself a banshee----I was joking around and going

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

so someone called me a banshee. That was all.

Okay...I concede freakish. Still, your essay was a very emotional piece, borderline sentimental. Looking back, I can now see how a male wrote it. The dark/light mysticism...revelation of knowledge...it suits you.

I just wanted to clarify (perhaps unnecessarily) that if I ever do anything to sound like I'm attacking someone, I truly am not intending to be a jerk. I come here to chill out, and I assume others do the same. So if I /ever/ come off as a jerk, my deepest apologies! :)

I know you aren't a jerk, and sorry for over-reacting! =)

haosquared, you read my essay??? I dont rememebr that-did you think it was good?

I read your essay as well. I went back and re-read... it's interesting.... the light and darkness...

lol.... If i have to apply to Yale, do you think its appropriate for Yale or is it too out there?

I don't really know where it'd fit... would it be the common app?

I liked it because it was intriguing. It wasn't an original concept but the way you wrote it gave it a fresh insight. Very far reaching, ambitious. A lot of figurative language so it seemed almost like I was in a time space warp.

ritzbitz seems girlish to me. :) the username, I meant

yeah-the common app. What does that mean it wasn't an original concept--- like what the essay is all about?

is hao a girl or a boy?
