Okay, so I have barely started Human Geography or Environmental Science (self-studying), and I have like 5 days to prepare. Is Kaplan for APES enough to get me a five, and is Barron's for APHG enough to get me a 5? Also, please please please don't tell me how screwed I am, some success stories from poeple who had less than a week to study and still got 5s would be helpful!! Thanks!!

For Human Geography, Barron’s should suffice. I’ve never used Kaplan before (using PR and Smartypants for ES), so I can’t tell you if it will suffice. However, I can tell you that, while five days doesn’t seem like much, if you calculate the numbers of study-able hours, they sum up to ~40 hours (8hrs/day*5days). Of course, this is assuming you skip school and dedicate 8hrs a day to study (4 hours each subject). Scoring 3+ is definitely attainable, and a 4 or 5 may be possible depending on your work ethic.

As much as skipping school for a week to study appeals to me, I simply can’t
I have already missed weeks due to pneumonia so I am pretty much limited to maybe one day at most. I still plan to get 8 hours in a day though, I can easily stay up until at least 2am, providing me with around 8 hours. I guess I will go and order PR and Smartypants off of Amazon, I have heard a lot of good things about Smartypants, although I have been told that PR is better as a review source with a class. Thanks for your help! I may still have a chance at achieving two fives… a small one, granted, but a chance nonetheless!

I’ve been studying APES for about a month, and am now panicking, because i just looked on the collegeboard sight, saw some FRQs from years past, and realized i dont know anything about them!!! ahhh!!!
but you might be ok
good luck!

…omg, you are going to make me die of stress!!

lol join the club… but, if you have good concentration, the PR is great for APES but don’t waste your money on the Smartypants its only like 100 pages and not very informative

Say… was this intensive study??

well i self studied put in about 30 minutes a day for a month, and 1 hour a day for the past week… unless you have a photographic memory, you may want to consider just focusing on one of them how far are u in the review books?

i read smartypants like 2x, which wasn’t really helpful, not that much cuz it didn’t go in details…
im rereading apes textbook for the 2nd time, so i’ll retain the info and understand more.
oh yeah,i spent like quite some time, over a month~~
so
i think unless u’re some science whiz with good science background, you’re not likely to get a 5 in a week…

I’m a freshman and I’ll take the AP Human Geo Test next friday. It’s my first AP Test, I’m just worried I’ll panic or something. I’m also not the best test taker out there.

well, I’m pretty much toast then, since I haven’t really started… If only I had been smart enough to rearrange my schedule so that math was 1st semester… Stupid math. I guess I’ll try my best, and by no means do I have a photographic memory, so that kind of sucks. Actually, when I am under stress, it is impossible for me to memorize even a sentence. And I’m under a lot of stress, again, because of math. Urg.

Does anyone know if you can cancel your exam a day before the test? I plan on taking a final practice test on Sunday, and my test is on Tuesday, so if I don’t get at least a four I am going to cancel it-- if that’s possible. I can’t believe how much I have procrastinated! I guess this serves as a fairly good lesson for the future. Maybe I’ll take math in the summer…

why are you worry about those exams? I read in cc that these two exams are the easiest.
