I really need advise. Financial Aid related.

I received a grant....

However, now my two other college aged siblings are not going to be in school this year. I just received a sibling verification notice that has to be returned by October 14th. If I loose this grant I can't afford to go to school.

My parents have bad credit and were denied a plus loan, Fannie Mae student loan, Citi loan, ect and I don't really qualify for another type of aid.

What am I supposed to do? I would be grateful for -any- advise in a right direction.

one possible option is to increase ur own stafford loan (i think the stafford loan doesn’t require parent’s credit) to a point where u can pay for school. talk to ur financial aid counselor for advice

Is the grant dependent on your siblings also being in college?

I would strongly suggest that you meet with a financial aid counselor to see how this can be worked out.

If your parents are denied for a Plus loan, then you should qualify for the Independent Undergraduate amount of Stafford Loans. So up to $9500 if you are a freshman, $10500 if you are a sophomore, and $12500 if junior or senior. You will most likely have to show proof of being denied the PLUS loan to your financial aid counselor. Also you can only borrow a max of $57500. Hope this helps, definitely talk to the school if you lose your grant.
