<p>Here's my situation -- My family and I are poor, and thus I received what I consider to be good financial aid. I got the max amount of federal grants and loans, and the school is giving me a good amount of money. However, after all that, there is still a gap of almost $1,000.
I have no clue where to turn for private loans. Also, there's another situation -- due to personal reasons, I wasn't able to get a job over the summer. And since I'm poor, my family doesn't have any money to give me to take with me in college. </p>
<p>I know it'd be crazy for me to go to college with no money to my name. So, I was thinking of getting out a private student loan, where the loaner would give the money to me, not the school. I was thinking of maybe getting out a loan of about 4 to 5 thousand dollars so that I could a) pay the $1k tuition gap, b) buy the things I need for my dorm c) maybe get a laptop d) get books e) have spending money, etc; you get the point. </p>
<p>Where do you guys recommend I start looking? Any advice?
