I just received my ACT score report, and my composite score was 35. The only issue I had was that I scored a 9 on the essay. Although the essay does not factor into the composite score, it is low compared to the rest of my scores. Do colleges really look at the essay scores? If so, should I retake the ACT? I received an 11 on the SAT 1 essay both times I took it so I feel that an 11 is easily attainable.
Thanks

I don’t think its really worth it. I mean your overall score is really
good. I don’t really think a better essay score will have any impact
on the rest of your life.

If you sincerely feel you can do better, retake it. However, a 35 composite, even with a 9 essay, will be competitive at any college. It’s up to you. Listen to your heart.

I really think you shouldn’t. I mean your score is already good enough.
And what if you do worse? Then you would have just wasted your time.

Take it again. You know you want the perfect score. You’ve got this.

That’s what’s up. You’re the man, PioneerJones. Why can’t everyone be as good of an influence as you are?

Even though I can see where you’re going with your essay score, keep it. That score will take you far and wide when it comes to college applications. Don’t overdo yourself. Consolidate your gains.
