I am freaking out because I sent in my applications to fordham, syracuse, university of miami, and northeastern around 30 minutes past midnight last night due to technical difficulties. I sent in BC’s application around 2 hour past midnight, cause i was busy with the other applications. Will these schools still accept an application that is late within minutes/hours?? I was going to call them today and ask. The reason why I waited last minute was because I kept revising my essays to be the best they can be. I will be so mad if my hard work is not considered. Do you think these colleges will be understanding??
I suggest you call and ask. You submitted late to several pretty competitive schools. There will be many other applicants who didn’t submit late. I don’t think your reason is going to sway an admissions officer.
If the problem was on their end they might be lenient. Two hours is pushing it, though. Given you had three or four months to get these things done, it isn’t going to speak well for your time management skills.
In the future bump up the deadline by a week or two in your calendar, and stick to it as though it was the real thing. It will eliminate the kind of angst you are experiencing now.
Did you get confirmation that they were received and the payment accepted? I would think they will accept your app, and due to the huge number of applications those schools receive, they may not even notice you were slightly late
i got a confirmation from the common app website, saying that they were successfully submitted
My best guess is that you should be fine. However, if not knowing for sure is going to be stressful, then call and let admissions know that there were technical problems in the transmission process.
It is possible that you might get different responses from different schools.
