I started on section 2 by accident

Don't ask.... It was such a stupid mistake; I guess it was nerves. It was my first time taking the SAT. Also, my thought process is not linear; I tend to not pay attention to order when I read or answer questions and I skip things by accident...

Anyway, I didn't realize I had skipped the first page in my answer booklet when I opened it. I thought the essay was at the end for some reason. It was an honest mistake. My proctor didn't accuse me of cheating or anything like that. She told me to continue section 2, and then when it was time to go to the next section, she told me to do section 1 while everyone else did section 2. She filed an irregularity report. Do you think my score will be cancelled?

By the way, I’m new here. So hey. And sorry if there’s already a thread like this; I couldn’t find any. If there is, please direct me to it.

I don’t know how trigger-happy CB is with cancellations; however, if the Sections One and Two were the same length (I believe they are; 25 minutes?), then I can’t logically see why they would cancel. But I’m not experienced with this sort of thing. I sympathize with you, taking the SAT is kind of nerve-wracking the first time. I hope things turn out alright for you.

If you have talked with the supervisor, it’s all good.
When I took SAT II, I wrote the answers of my first test on the last page because I hadn’t noticed that it was a 4-page book and not a 2-sided sheet. Pretty dumb, but it happens when you’re stressed. So I had my sound 800 in Spanish and it was just perfect :)

MoreAboutNothing- They are the same length. I suppose the only problem is that the talking to my proctor and the report distracted me a little from my test and cut into my essay time. Better than nothing, at least.
Thanks for the reply. It was comforting and I’m a little less spooked now.
Spookie123- I didn’t speak to the supervisor, but I think my proctor spoke to someone. Not sure. In any case, I just hope CB doesn’t see a need to cancel my score, although I feel like my situation was unusual so I don’t know what’s going to happen.
Does anyone know when they’ll tell me if my score is cancelled?

i did something worse

i was doing section 6, but bubbled in section 8

I told my proctor if in the 5 minute break i could pass my answers to the correct sections, and he did let me

Shouldn’t be a problem.
But didn’t you notice that everyone else was frantically scribbling while you bubbled your vocab?

Clandarkfire–I didn’t! I wondered, when I made the realization, how I hadn’t noticed earlier.
Matter fact, I was so upset when the proctor said time was up, because I was doing 2, but I was looking through section 3 and I thought that was still section 2, and I was thinking that I was going to have to leave all of those questions blank. Lol. I don’t know what was going on with me today.
