Yes, it usually takes this long. Calm down people! You've waited 5 months. Why can't you just wait another 13 days?

It's just frustrating because we've heard back from nearly every other college! So it's obviously hard to make a final decision without knowing all the options.

^^ I understand. I went through all of this two years ago. I remember posting on the thread, "The Abuse by the University of Michigan". I wonder where it is now.

Must they play so with the hearts and minds of innocents? :D

Is there a difference between waitlisted and deferred?

Deferred means they will come back to you and give you a final decision - either rejection, waitlist or acceptance. Wait-listed means you are pretty much rejected, unless some spot opens up for you miraculously.

The April 30 rumor is absolutely not true. And not everyone has to wait till April 15. Decisions are being mailed out all along in batches; I believe April 15 is the last batch.

say i got deferred, are they gonna tell me the next decision from the mail or in wolverine access?

Does UMich notify on a rolling basis via Wolverine Access, or are we all going to find out on the same date, like Cornell for instance (for those who experienced that this past Monday)?

Y'all will find your decisions posted on Wolverine Access on April 15th, 2008. You heard it here first!!

i applied november 30 and finally withdrew today. though. im done with mich and off to cornell...

^^Each and everyone who's not got a decision will get one only on April 15th or will they still release it in batches as you said before??

@MightyNick: TY bro. That's good news except, I don't feel as "lucky" about that type of notification. Cornell posted their decisions all on one day on their website, and I was rejected. I hope UMich doesn't follow suit.

I wonder how many spots are left though, are there going to be any acceptances?

From what I've heard, people who applied in November/Dec and got deferred, most likely get waitlisted if they haven't heard back until April 1st.

I can say from past experience that from all the people I knew in my class that applied to UMich, only two (from like ten or twelve) got in on April 15th. Other that had gotten in had heard back before April 15th.

^^ REALLY??? AWWW MAN! I'm bummed now...

Eek.. I wasn't aware Mich was rolling either, and it was sort of a last minute afterthought on my part to apply, and I believe I sent it in probably January 30. Lol. So I haven't heard.. I hope I'm in! Though I guess it's looking doubtful..

Cindy, there is still hope. This year is weird. I know a student in your situation who is still waiting. He would normally hear back in 4-6 weeks as he is a clear admit.

Why does all the weird things happen during our year??

Because we're the children of the baby boomer generation...so lots of applicants!!
