I tell you what classes I have, you tell me which SATs to take

I'm a junior, and this year I'm taking

Honors American
US History SAT II

AP English
English Literature SAT II

Physics
Physics SAT II

Precalculus
Mathematics Level 1 SAT II
Mathematics Level 2 SAT II

OKAY. So I obviously have other classes but none that have SATs...

What I need from you guys is to tell me which 2 or 3 I should take. All of the colleges I'm looking into only recommend or require 2, but I guess I'll take 3 just to be on the safe side. I need to take these by the end of Junior year, so I'm guessing in either May or June. WITH THE EXCEPTION of math. I can take that next year in October because that's the one subject I can get tutored on, especially over the summer.

I have a few questions
1) I know that they're all for different people, blah blah. But seriously. I'm a good student, with an good average at a spectacular school. I have no specific subject I'm great in, or that I love. So with that in mind - which of the SAT IIs above would be hardest, or better - which three would be best to take, considering the student has recieved average preperation?

2) If the math is one of the SAT IIs you guys recommend, I think I'd rather take Level 2 over Level 1. I'm not the best math student, but for that subject I can definitely get a math tutor. The thing is, my precalculus class isn't really precalculus. My school calls it precalculus, but I think really it's just Math B. Those of you who are familiar with NYS Regents, it basically covers all of MATH B, minus the geometry section (which I took last term.) Is this sufficient for the SAT II for Level 2 math? Or do I need calculus/precalculus for it... Is it reallllllly hard to do great on the test if you aren't some kind of math wiz?

3) Are the SAT IIs similar to the SATs in the way that it is totally cut throat time-wise? Like do you barely have enough time to finish/don't finish/just finish or is it more like a NYS regent where you have at least 2 hrs to kill before they even let you leave the exam room?

4) Not a question, but I THINK my physics teacher might be inadequate. It's a little early to tell, considering only a month has passed, but she might very well end up being a really, really awful teacher. She's only been in class for a week or so, cause she's been 'boxing' or something all of september. So she only started to teach us recently. My class can't decide whether she's a crazy ***** who doesn't know what she's doing, or might actually be a good teacher... take that in to consideration of that SAT II is really hard.

5) Okay, out of the ones you guys have recommended, which prep books are best? Like if you recommended three SAT's: Lit, Math Lev 2, and US Hist -> Maybe the Kaplan is best for Literature, while Barrons is best for Math, and something else is good for US History. I really would like to know because I'm going to buy these books around January/February.

6) What's the whole deal with the taking the SATs and SAT IIs? There are only like a couple of days throughout the year, so if you want to take it in say May or June, do you really have to take like three SAT IIs in one day, possibly along with an SAT as well??? Do a lot of people do that - take multiple SAT IIs in a day?

7) If I actually do take/retake that Math Lev 2 or even the regular SATs in October of senior year, rather than during the end of junior year, does it cut off a lot of deadlines for EA or ED? Or are most deadlines after you'd recieve the results?

If this post doesn't get too many replies, I think I'm going to repost in one of the main boards. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! Really, I appreciate any input at alllll. Pleeeeeeeeeease. :)

hey.
1) Stay away from Lit. as u need a lot of prep and background there. With avg prep i think MATH IIC(Its harder than I C, but the curve is much more generous), Physics and maybe chem or bio. although im not so sure about the histories so u check with ppl who hav prepped for those.
2)Well Even i prefer level 1 over level 2 simply because of the curve(LEVEL 1 IS VERY HARSH, 1 MISTAKE AND U LOSE UR 800; LEVEL ON THE OTHER HAND ALLOWS FOR A RAW SCORE OF ABOUT 43/50 FOR A 800). no its not that tough; get a good book like PR/Kaplan and im sure u'll b able to do it.
3)Well Yes they are totally cut throat time wise.. however if u do lotsa practice tests and get teh hang of it u migh finish within 40-50 mins.. do the barrons book for all subjects-they are ridiculouly hard and long; once u master those the real test will b relatively easy.
4)Ive heard stuff bout physics but if u know ur fundamentals and prep well it wont b taht difficult.
5)MATH II C:PR/BARRONS(KEEP IN MIND THAT BARRONS OVERPREPARES U, WHILE PR IS PERFECT.PHYSICS:PR/KAPLAN.CHEM:BARRONS/PR(AGAIN BARRONS OVERPREPARES U).
6) u cant take the SAT reasoning(SAT 10 and SAT subject on teh same day. u can however take 3 SAT II's on the same day.(though i wud personally advice u to give no more tahn 2 on the same day)
7)well most deadlinges for EA are Nov1st and Nov 15 or so. So u wud b fine if u retake in OCT. (they also accept the nov test for EA)

hope that answers everything,
best of luck..

1.
Math IIC-- the curve alone makes it worth it.
Physics-- sweet curve; self-study a little from PR/Sparknotes and you should be fine.
USH or Lit-- whichever you're stronger in

Look through the topics covered by the Math IC vs IIC. If you've covered the material- definitely go IIC.

Similar to the SATs, I think.

Self-study for the SAT II, if you feel you aren't learning much.

Don't know.

You can take up to 3 Subject Tests on one day-- one hour each. OR you can take the SAT Reasoning. You cannot take both in one sitting. I recommend taking the Subject Tests in June, after you have finished the classes. Take the Reasoning some other test day in the spring.

October deadlines are fine for most EA/ED schools. Many accept scores from the November date, too.
