OK, I have this huuuuuge problem with decision my major. I have narrowed it down to two, engineering and business... Which one of these is a better choice for a pretty good math student?? Which major is the more "hot" one. (meaning more people go to, which means I might have a better shot at the other one..-/) I'm not really interested in majoring in both cuz if I get into a fairly good college, I don't think there will be time to major in both. Also, which one of these majors leads you to a job field that the U.S. commonly send employees to China?

dumpppppppp

dumpppppppp

pleeeease I really need some advicee^_^

Oh, I'd say engineering is probably a more common target for outsourcing. I think business majors make more money too, no? For instance, the majority of students at Princeton major in finance...which is...kinda like business? I'm not really sure, I want to do engineering myself.

Mine isn't an expert opinion or anything, but there you go.

Ok, thanx a lot!!!

a majority of students at Princeton major in finance? or a plurality?

Well if you're talking about MIT, don't bother worrying about whether you major will affect your admissions rate.

As for other schools it depends upon which school. Some schools are more popular for business and some for engineering.

Personally I think engineering would just be more fun.

If you do get into MIT, just test the waters until May when you have to declare. Who knows? You might just hate doing one of the majors when you're doing GE's and the choice will be obvious. It's also possible to get an MBA with an engineering degree, I don't think the converse works though (B.A in business going to masters in engineering).

Thanx. But can anyone list any huge advantage one has over the other?

Well, engineering is harder. :)

and that's better why....? lol

I don't think either has a huge advantage over the other. The world needs both buisness people and engineers. What kind of EC's do you sincerely enjoy doing(like even if they didn't go on your transcript, etc, you would still do)?

you should decide based on what you enjoy more once you get a chance to experience both. never make a decision based on what you think will be easier to acheive, which pays more, etc. good luck! I know it's hard to choose, because I like a lot of things too!

Major in engineering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

unless you don't like it

Most engineers can become business people very easily, yet it is extremely hard for business majors to even try any engineering....
