My unweighted gpa is about a 3.7, weighted is at a 4.62. My grades are on an upward trend though. I just completed my Junior year and my Junior year gpa(if there was such a thing) is a 4.0 unweighted, all As. I am in the top 10% of my class though(possibly top 5%, but school does not release that info to students). I am in all honors and AP classes. My AP classes are biology, chemistry, statistics and US History. My school does not offer many APs, but it is a top 100 public high school.

I got a 2330 on the SATs( 790 in math, 740 in writing, 800 in critical reading)
On SAT Subject Tests, I got an 800 on Biology-Molecular and a 790 on the Math 2s.

ECs:
-Peer mentoring(helping new students adjust, leading new kids seminars, and talking to parents of new students)
-JV Cross-Country-4 years
-Science Team-4 years
-Latin Club(I have also earned a few National Latin Exam awards)-2 years
-play the violin in my school orchestra and will be second violin section leader this upcoming year
-~40 hours of community service at local hospital
-unpaid internship last year at another hospital where I helped out in the blood lab and shadowed a cardiologist and hematologist
-research project this Fall at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard(perhaps a hook for these colleges I had no chance at otherwise?)
-took two JHU-CTY courses: Astronomy and Introduction to Biomedical Sciences

I had been thinking of applying to Brown, Dartmouth, Amherst, Middlebury, Tufts, and Wellesley, and maybe MIT or Harvard because of my research project with their institute, which may be a hook for them.

I am thinking these colleges might be too ambitious now though...

I think all those schools are targets for you although ivies are a tossup, middlebury fits your bill pretty well, maybe apply to a school like gtown as well…chance mehttp://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/964841-chance-me-ill-chance-back-ill-online-all-night.html

thanks! I just responded to yours…the problem with georgetown is that it requires me to take an extra SAT subject test and I while I do like Georgetown, I don’t thik I like it enough to take an extra SAT subject test just for them.

startingline don’t get bogged down reading all these chance threads, you’ve honestly got great stats. You’re SAT Is and IIs are great and your grades and ECs are pretty good.
Chances wise:
Harvard, Dartmouth, MIT-Reach
-they are reaches for everyone, but if you can get across a strong passion for math/science that can help you a lot at MIT
Brown-Slight Reach
Matches-Amherst, Middlebury, Tufts, Wellsley

thanks! I responded to yours!! I definitely think I can demonstrate passion in science(not so much math) which will hopefully come across in essays!

Thanks! I am pretty worried about the lack of unique ECs in my application…I may be working at a hospice next month, which is something that I think may stand out in an application

My favorite is Amherst. I think it is harder to get into though, than Dartmouth, which is why I am really nervous about it. The acceptance rate is about the same, and the stats are about the same for Amherst and Dartmouth, but Amherst seems to really like accomplishments more than SAT scores.

hannibalxx is a tool, ignore him. Harvard and MIT are big reaches for you, as your UW GPA seems to be a weakness in your application, and I doubt such research is a hook for you. Brown and Dartmouth are low-mid reaches and the rest fall closer to match, though you have a solid shot at amherst. Good luck! If you truly desire to chance me, you can find an older chance thread of mine on my posts.
