I thought you should know

I’m so totally a Romantic

have you read Notes from Underground, and is it capable of being enjoyed?

Well, I’ve enjoyed it thus far.

I think that I’m more fond of Nabokov’s works though. Have you read any of his books?

I have solely read his literary criticism, which is normally pretty insightful, although I must disagree with him granting Kafka’s magnum opus a higher place than Proust’s, but that is neither here nor there. His translation of Eugene Onegin left some to be desired by way of rhyme, but was extremely practical in all other respects.

Did I ever mention that I don’t really like C&P? I mean the main body of the book is interesting, what with several psychologically twisted people gnawing at each other’s brains  but the conclusion was…like, that’s nice, but there was absolutely no rhyme or reason for it to happen.

And that is the extent to which I am able to comment on literature.

I didn’t like Paradise Lost, but I really liked Crime and Punishment
