<p>EC:
1. MUN President of the International Court of Justice (11,12)
2. Green Team, orgnized blind water tasting test, created trash distribution map, fundraised for fuel-efficient stoves for women in Africa (10, 11,12)
3. Service Learning- taugh refugee children and then worked with Egypt's National Council of Childhood and Motherhood and selected as part of delegation of Egypt to Geneva to discuss child's right issues
4. Newspaper - published several articles regarding envionrmental and social issues at local English newspaper during summer (11,12)
5. Eco-Husk-studetn run company that makes products out of agricultural wastes and got award for 'Young Eenrepernuers of the year 2011 in Egypt'..i was 'the head of envionrment and sustainability' and it was my idea (which is reflected in one of the LORs) (11,12)
6. Jazz Band - Played tenor sxpone and clarinet (9,10,11)
7. Forensics (11) - talked about this activity for 1000 characters one. Talked about how winning isn't everything...</p>

<p>Awards: Geography, Service Learning, Young Entreperneurs of the Year in Egypt 2011</p>

<p>Essays:
Common App - v. good (9/10) (central idea: persistence + curiosity) - i talked about how i was so involved in drama to be popular, and i became popular but i felt like i was lost....so i tried to look for something that would make me passionate, which are shown in the activity list....every teacher said "very good" : )</p>

<p>LORs:
1. English Teacher - v. good (9.5/10)...she talked about newspaper article + my IB presentation or IOP that talked about women's right through poems
2. Geography Teacher (MUN advisor) - v. good (10/10) 2 page essay; longest essay she ever written - she explained what i did for activities since most of my activities were related to geography,
3. ESL Teacher - amazying (10/10) known since I came to this international school with NO english (5 years ago) , watched how i progressed and she is like my MENTOR!</p>

<p>these teachers have shown that I apply what I learnt in class to outside of the class or vise versa</p>

<p>Counselor rec: okay...she is new...but my geography teacher voluntarily went up to her and talked about me..</p>

<p>Major: Geography + International Studies + Envionrmental Studies
Ethnicity: East Asian</p>

<p>i wanted to show that numbers aren't eveything....but that I have curiosity and persistence!Isn't that what Middlebury looking for? (i hope...) I know my numbers do not match with Middlebury College, but I really wanna get in.
I really loved their 'How did you get here' audios...i have visited their school website more than 50 times according to Google haha And Midkid music video haha Middlbury is really cool...
i have to get in... :-) </p>

<p>I hate to be so negative, but I think the likelihood of your admission to Middlebury in the ED round is very slim. I hope I’m wrong!</p>

<p>^^^^Agree, with those scores there will be concerns about your ability to do the course work without lots of help. Your grades won’t help and just look like grade inflation, because of your percentile.
I think you need a gap year, preferably in an English-speaking country doing some environmental stuff, studying, and re-taking those tests.
I’m not optimistic about Vassar, Macalaster,Brandeis or Colgate, either.
Why don’t you look at St. Olaf-less selective than Macalaster and strong international/save the world vibe as well…</p>

<p>hmmm…your SATs are low, but you’re grades are pretty good, you’re a diploma candidate so obviously your taking very challenging courses and don’t have inflated grades (oh the joys of the IB ;). Are you ESL (English as a second language) since you’re at school in Egypt? This might help you. You might also look at SAT optional schools.</p>
