I want to get into occidental. What does it look for in its applicants?
I really want to get into occidental. But I think I have slim chances. I was predicted 30/42 (IB) and I have a 2000 in my SAT. I gave SAT II as well. I got a 710 in Math 2 and a 650 in Biology E. If I state that I want to major in biology, will it lower down my chances as it is one of the most popular majors. And if I state that I want to major in a very uncommon subject, will it make my chances greater? Thank you :)

Those would be good questions for an admissions counselor at Oxy. I don’t know how to convert 30/42 to a 4.0-scale GPA, but the SAT score is fine - it’s above their median.

I googled “collegeboard occidental” and got a link to the CollegeBoard website for Occidental.

From there you select the Admissions link from the grid at the top, and you get a list of what factors are most important to them. In the same grid at the top, you have a link called SAT, AP, CLEP; this link will show you the middle 50% scores.

Does it give good financial aid to international students?
