IB Degree Program (IBDP) vs. IB Career Program (IBCP)

I posted this in the IB forum but realized it would likely be more appropriate here:

Our high school offers IB courses only, no AP.

They offer two separate IB programs - the traditional IB Diploma Program (IBDP) and an IB Career-Related Program (IBCP). Basically, the IBCP has fewer IB-level course requirements than the IBDP and requires some career-focused courses (e.g., technical, business, arts, or otherwise).

My question is for a student who’s considering whether to pursue an IB path in high school: From a college admissions perspective, is it ‘worth it’ to pursue the IBCP, or would one be just as well served by taking IB-level classes at their choosing? i.e., is the IBCP something that’s recognized as an achievement above-and-beyond taking individual IB courses?

FWIW, this is NOT their primary consideration whether to enter an IB curriculum or not, but may be a factor in choosing between IBDP and IBCP, or IBCP and ad hoc IB courses, e.g.
