I was wondering besides all the other stuff which would be best when applying to Ives going to a private school, and IB school, a regular high school, or a New schools project school?

Just in case anybody did not know what a new schools project school was http://www.newschoolsproject.org/projects.html

Rate them in order from best to worst and also how much better each one is please. Thanks.

It all depends.. there are horrible IB schools, but there are horrible private schools too.

Where I live, the public schools are supposedly great but actually are not very good at all, and that includes the IB school in my town. We have some excellent, excellent private schools around though. I don't know of any private school around here that is worse than any public school around here, but there are some that probably aren't worth the money for the slight difference.

Varies.

All can be excellent, but it really depends on the teacher and not the program. IB is a more rigorous courseload and well rounded that those other I believe, but the teachers are what make the difference.

Thank you for the input.

I've had an amazing experience as an IB student within a regular public high school which is broken up like a new school, with small learning communities. IB is great if you're looking at a top LAC, as it is well understood to be both rigorous and committed to the values of a Liberal Arts education

I've had an excellent experience with the IB as well (and I still am!), but I am attending a private prep school.

New Schools Project School > IB School > Regular High School > Private School

I don't attend any of those. I go to a School of Choice, which requires over 120 hours of community service, higher graduation requirements, an UW GPA over 3.0, and a senior project.

I know a couple of schools like New School Project Schools, and they are excellent. I chose IB second because the IB school near me has a very boring curriculum where students are forced to take certain classes. A regular high school is better than a private school for me because: I can't come close to affording to go to a private school, and I believe a regular high school provides a more realistic and less strict environment.
