I'd LOVE to go to Stanford. Chances?

FYI- I'm a junior, so these stats are mostly up to date, but a FEW things are estimated to what they'll be in a year when I apply.

I think I'll have what it takes to get in, but I think I'll be on the low end. What do you think?

Likely applying ED.
White Male from Minnesota
Decent Public school near St. Paul
Upper Class Income.. expenses are no problem
UW GPA 10th/11th: 3.75 (10th 3.5, 11th 4.0, upward trend)
Weighted GPA 10th/11th: 3.82
ACT: 30 (estimation, got 29 on practice)
SAT: 2200 (estimation)
Class Rank: Top 30% (9th grade was bad, but Stanford doesn't look at 9th grade. Otherwise it would be top 10% for sure.)
I'm quite a writer, since I do it all the time, so I think my essays will be top-of-the-line.

...So? Assuming this is how things turn up, what are my chances? Is it worth applying?

In addition, any advice would be HIGHLY appreciated, because I'd REALLY love to make this happen.

You have done well and will be admitted to many fine schools. Don't overlook the UM-Twin Cities in your backyard as it is on the move up. However there is nothing in your application at this time that would make you stand out in the international pool at Stanford so I would focus on a few other schools at this time.

My S had much better academic credentials than you - ACT 35, rank 7/340, 5s in AP calc AB, BC, Comp SCI A, AB, Phy C, but your extra curricular are better. He applied for computer science and didnt even make the wait list - straight rejection.

Stanford does not have ED, only Single-Choice Early Action (SCEA)...which basically equates to a non-binding decision that comes early (December I'm assuming)

Try to get one of those books published: that would help your EC's.

Apply if you are interested, not just because of its ranking, etc.
