Ideas?

Hello :)

I graduated two years ago with a mechanical engineering degree from an Ivy League school. I have never enjoyed engineering. I've been working as an engineer for the past two years and really need to change career paths. I love computers, but can not program, so I was leaning towards getting a degree in information technology. The only problem I have is that my gpa from undergrad leaves a lot to be desired.

Has anyone here went to graduate school in something other than engineering after an engineering degree? What was your experience like? Should I give up on trying to get into grad school because of my terrible gpa (>2.5, <3.0)?

Also do you guys know of any good places online to figure out what it is you would enjoy doing in life?

It might not be the best idea to apply to a graduate program in a field in which you have little experience. Even if you were to get in, the chances of you not enjoying it might be higher and you would get stuck trying to finish a degree you no longer want.

Why not take some undergrad IT courses first and decide for sure whether you want to pursue this new path? Also, what is it that you want with this degree? To go into academia or just work in IT? A higher degree might not be necessary for what you want.
