idk so lost...

so i am a junior and i have:
GPA: 3.1
SAT: 2230
EC: A lot( research internships, volunteering, bike races, clubs, foreign language outside school etc.)
AP: taken 3 classes. 4's on test. 5 more next year
SAT2: in june :(
so i am looking for SMALL colleges that have good BIO/ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE PROGRAMS. so no ivy league or super selective (i wont get in :()
???

Try better title next time so people who have answers on your topic will open it. Look in the parents and other similar threads for colleges for “B” students.

You will have plenty of choices if you don’t want ivy/. There are a lot of excellent schools that would be a good fit for you. Birmingham-Southern in Alabama has a good environmental program. The University of Montevallo also offers a good choice.

What’s the reason for the relative disparity between your GPA and SAT score, if you don’t mind me asking? (I’ll bet colleges will wonder, too.)

Look into Hampshire College. They have a great Environmental Science program and are test optional also. It’s not a school for everyone, but for the right kid, it’s amazing.

<a href=“Hendrix College | Environmental Studies”>http://www.hendrix.edu/EnvironmentalStudies/

Just tossing out a few names:
Eckerd College (FL), New College of Florida, Whitman, Hendrix, UNC-Asheville, Hampshire, College of the Atlantic, Marlboro, University of Puget Sound

Warren Wilson. Environmental Science + Bike Racing. Win win!

Unity College (in Maine): http://www.unity.edu/

Neither Hendrix’s nor Hampshire’s ES programs are comprehensive although Hampshire is excellent for most subfields.

Fortunately there are a lot of excellent options, especially if you want to focus more on the bio side of ES.
Here are some suggestions:
St. Lawrence U
University of Puget Sound
Willamette
Oxford College of Emory (Emory considers its ES program as one of the school’s strongest)
Sewanee
College of the Atlantic (I was offered a position in Acadia National Park. Very hard to turn down owing to the sheer beauty of the region)
University of Minnesota - Morris
Eckerd College
Beloit
SUNY ESF (the partnership with Syracuse makes its program among the strongest out there)
UNC Ashville
Allegheny College
Hobart & William Smith
Wa
Appalachian State (larger than what you’re looking for but an outstanding school)
