If I get a job over the summer...

...will I have to report it to Cornell University's Financial Aid offices?
...will they consequently deduct from their grants gifted to me?

I’m pretty sure that It will count towards the Sudent contribution, which should be about $2320 or something.

your job over the summer should go towards your Summer Student Contribution…

there is a summer savings adjustment form you can fill out (which says you did not meet the summer contribution b/c you had expenses (only certain things qualify as "expenses)

and if you qualify the difference will be made up in the form of a loan…

if you dont work over the summer (and qualify) you can turn the student contribution into loan…

at a bare minimum, Cornell will know about your wages when you file for your FinAid next year because you will have to submit a 2009 tax return. Finaid for this coming school year is based on 2008 wages.
