I honestly am getting tired of saying the same thing.

Bcarvings, check out post number 1 of the thread, “Everything you wanted to know or should know about accounting.” It will answer your question.

I know I read it 80% of all courses are the same amoung schools for accounting because the curriculum is mandated by the state.

BUT! Because harrisburg has a Masters in accounting, wouldn’t it be better to go to penn state? Or is it better to have an bachler’s and master’s from differ schools?

As I noted in post number one of the featured thread, “IT DOESN"T MATTER.”

The only thing that might matter is that local partners will recruit from schools in their area. Thus, if you want to work in Harrisburg, go to school there. If you want to work somewhere else , go to school there.

Even if you want to work in another area, get a good GPA and simply call firms for an interview.

But it must matter more then you say it does. I mean my local community college uses the same textbooks for many of its courses as my local university. But the professors are far more competent at the university, and you learn a lot more, I know from experience.

I mean even calculus is dumbed down at the community college, the grades are able to be curved a lot more. But again you will say grades are not curved in accounting…

It just seems difficult to grasp the concept. Why even rank schools for accounting if it doesn’t matter that much? I mean if I go to an unranked ****ty (though AABS accreditated) school will I be able to get an interview with a big four firm? (Assuming I initiate contact with them)
