If I have a letter of recommendation from a doctor I shadowed virtually during covid-19, should I even include it in the activities category in the common app? Or can I use that category to put something else in there
I would think it would go in your Activities to explain what you did, responsibilities, accomplishments, etc. If it was major enough for a LoR, I would think it was an important activity.
The letter will be a reflection of thoughts about you, it likely won’t lay out your role, responsibilities, etc.
Without it, an admissions officer may get a letter than says “xxx had very good work habits and really helped my practice” with no idea what the “work” or “practice” is. Doctors don’t tend to be the best writers.
