If I were to go to Caltech, would someone build a computer for me?

I know it sounds really stereotypical of the school as dominant in computer engineering etc. etc., but every computer I've bought from Dell HP etc. just don't seem to cut it, and they have faulty/ghetto parts

If I were to go to Caltech with a computer budget, or possibly visit Caltech's online forums, would I be able to find someone that would work on building a computer for me? for a better deal than what I could get in BestBuy etc. type of thing?

thanks for the help in advance.

Yep,

Just don't come here only because you needed a computer :)

I would happily do it (I completed another build a few weeks ago) but I'm deciding between CalTech and UChicago...ahhhhh...

No, but they might take apart your computer...

Honestly, you could find someone to build a computer for you at any school.

If the school has an engineering program, you’ll find plenty of people who are willing and able.

I could’ve built you a computer when I was in middle school. I’ve been using home-built computers ever since I learned how.

If you mean, engineer the components, you’re out of your mind.
