If you can afford the California schools, go ahead and apply. UC’s will be $55k-$60k. CSU’s will be about $40k

@"aunt bea"‌ I have scholarships, and will be trying to squeeze 4 years into 3, so as to afford grad school.

But do you think I will have a chance at admissions?? What can I do differently (add or drop)???

Can someone please chance me (safety/match/low reach/high reach)
THANKS!!

You have already received $240,000 in scholarships? You will be paying OOS tuition for all of your education years in California.
if you were thinking that you would just go to school in California for a year and then pay in-state tuition, that’s not going to happen. Residency requirements are really strict for the California schools. If your intention is to come to California for your education, which for most students it is, then you will be paying full fees for 4 years. Those schools are tough and getting out in less than 4 years, is very rare. Your GPA and SAT scores are not competitive for most of those schools listed, except for Northridge.

Sure, your GPA and SAT aren’t competitive, but your ECs are very impressive, as is your language ability. So, you should try to capitalize on the things you have built: the school program you started, the impact of your volunteering, how you took the boy’s volleyball team to success (if you did). If you can really show your personality that way, you have a pretty good chance at many of these colleges.

I would recommend sending your ACT score over your SAT.

Good Luck.

@ajtalkar‌ I’m only going into my sophomore year, these are just projections, my GPA, ACT, and SAT may be higher or lower… (plus I will be taking the NEW SAT so who knows how that will go…)
@"aunt bea"‌ I have SOME scholarships, not nearly enough to cover everything, but I having savings to draw from…

Any tweaks from anyone else?

bump
