Oh yeah I should have said bad teachers, or at least put the bad teachers with the kids who don’t care. Some of the bad teachers at my school teach some AP classes x.x.

Oh gosh.

-More teachers who care & actually know how to teach
-More kids who care about someone other than themselves, and also care about something other than celebrities/drugs/gossip
-No class ranks
-More languages. We have Spanish, French, & German… I would’ve taken German if I hadn’t gone to an art school 1st semester of freshman year :/. My guidance counselor told me I couldn’t make up a whole semester of German, so I’d have to stick with Spanish. I also didn’t care enough to make room in my schedule for it this year. Latin/Japanese, on the other hand, I would’ve made room for.
-More funding for art & music programs
-More funding period (not even sports get funded much)
-Get rid of the Microsoft Applications class requirement (seriously… such a waste of time). Same w/ gym & vocational ed. requirement.
-Abolish cliques. I’m a drifter & have close friends in all of them, but I hate that awkward “outsider” feeling I get when I try to talk to a friend & the rest of their clique is around.
-Guidance counselors that like/want to do their jobs
-More kids (my class is about 300/350…)

I think I’ll stop here…

Get rid of all the getto kids, useless teachers, and dust bunnies.

Oh God! Don’t even get me started!

UNDO block scheduling, it’s murdering me!

Put more money into the Arts Department, less into f’ing Football. Also, a little bit into debate so we could charge less for tournaments and get more members would be lovely.

Do some G-D building maintenance, our school looks like a steaming pile of crap. A lot of people, not just me, get their allergies triggered by mold or SOMETHING in one of the hallways. The cafeteria has a strange, distinct odor that never goes away, and the new building, which was built in 2004, is as leaky and full of holes as a politician’s talking points.

Hire a principal who doesn’t sound like Forestt Gump.

Get a better library. Our library has the oldest average age of books and the lowest number of books/student in the county, and we’re FAR from the most worst-off school.

Get better computers. Like ones that don’t run Windows XP and take 7 minutes to log in.

Hey, it’s not our fault Chick-fil-a and McDonald’s built stores a mile away from campus. Serve some decent food in the cafeteria, and actually cook to the right temperature without burning it, and we’ll consider not leaving campus during lunch anymore, which is a huge problem at our school. Nobody’s going to pay $5 for a half-cooked cheeseburger, burnt mozzarella sticks, and a carton of apple juice when they can go to McDonald’s and back in less than 10 minutes.

Ban making out in the hallways, seriously.

More APs. Now our school system has this awesome program where “smaller” AP classes, like Spanish Lit, where there isn’t a lot of interest at each school is offered at a central location. It also offers Career Tech stuff like Auto Tech and Cosmetology. Generally students who attend this school spend half a day there. That’s nice…but some of the AP courses it offers could be easily spread back to the high schools. There are 8 full periods of AP Chemistry, surely that’s enough interest to offer it at every high school?

Enforce the dress code, just a bit. I don’t need to see men’s underpants. And change the priorities of it a little. Why is thickness of shoulder straps enforced more than skirt length?

Do intelligent things with money, like saving teachers’ jobs, not building an $11,000 gym entrance that’s just a copy of the main entrance.

Do a thorough evaluation of every teacher, they’ll see how many stupid hiring decisions they’ve made.

Yeah, I guess that’s about it.

More money to music and science.

Enough about football; we lost half our games this year.

Put money into education, not building a new swimming pool.

Offer more rigorous classes.

Place kids into AP classes, especially AP Language.

Require more hours of community service. 30 hours over 4 years? Really?!

I don’t know how people would enforce this rule, but if you don’t care about the class, you get kicked out.

To have a lot nicer of a campus.

I’d eliminate the blocking schedule in my school. Normal periods are 50-55 minutes, while block periods are 80 minutes long. It’s evil…

Monday - All Six Periods
Tuesday - 1, 2, 4, 5
Wednesday - 2, 3, 5, 6
Thursday - 1, 3, 4, 6
Friday - All Six Periods

Oh, and I’d get rid of my French II teacher. We’re learning nothing in that class, and she’s really boring/annoying too.

Eliminate block scheduling for AP world history/H English and H English 9 and H History 9.

Add honor language classes. (ex: Accelerated French 2, Honors French 3 etc.)

Add more AP classes (AP Psychology, AP Environmental Science, AP Human Geography, AP Japanese, AP Art History, AP Computer Science)

Get a lacrosse team

Get QUALITY teachers

Maybe get a better principal who is more motivated?

Better Cafeteria Food

Bigger Lockers

get rid of block scheduling.
add languages, we only have french and spanish.
more AP classes.
swimming pool/swim team/other water sports.
more clubs, and people interested in clubs. we don’t have mock trial, debate, mock un, any honor societies that arent just NHS (like mu alpha theta, french honor society), no real science or math related things like robotics and no quiz bowl or academic decathlon.
less students.
stricter attendance policy for students to get credit for classes.
get rid of the daycare.
have a community service requirement for graduation. well i don’t really care about that one but it seems nice i guess.
get rid of the communication skills credit requirement for graduation.
make football and all of the other sports NOT CLASSES.
uniforms. this really isn’t me being serious though, i just hate how everyone at my school dresses.
get rid of useless classes like “honors physical education”
BETTER GUIDANCE COUNSELORS.
begin freshman year with biology instead of physical science.
do state testing in a month other than april, and don’t take up two weeks for it.
