If you don't like the lunch your mom packs you, pack it yourself

So, I recently transferred to a private day prep school from a public school, and while it's definitely a step up (better class sizes, polite students, more freedom) there are a couple of things that annoy me.

Firstly, at lunch, people often have lunches packed by their parents. Now, this isn't really bad thing, but it becomes a bad thing when they start whining "my mom packed the wrong kind of jam AGAIN!" "my mom didn't pack me enough mozzarella!" Seriously, guys, your parents are doing you a favor by packing your lunch. The most my parents help me with my lunch is cook me eggs to make egg salad or give me money to buy lunch at school. If you're that particular about your food, make it yourself.

Additionally, no one I've talked to likes the school lunch, but I think it's really quite good. It's not gourmet, obviously, but it's way better than public school lunch. They have pasta, baked chips, turkey sandwiches, that kind of stuff. Granted, you absolutely should not order the nachos, and the hot lunch should be chosen carefully, but I like it enough to buy it pretty consistently.

Lastly, I really don't like it when students start talking to me about how the school has XYZ problems, or how the english teacher I happen to like is really neurotic and annoying, or how Mrs. ABC is really mean and gives too much homework. Maybe you should consider who you are talking to. I'm a scholarship student who was barely given enough financial aid to even go to this school, and you're taking it for granted.

You’re going to see rich and spoiled kids in every private school…deal with it
