If I got into Harvard I would go.

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”

I’d probably mistake it for rejected.

Who would you tell first?

Dad, then Mom.

How would you tell people?

Post depressed status updates on Faceboook. Then when people ask you, say “Oh, I’m just going to a small liberal arts college down the road from MIT.You’ve probably never even heard of it.” Then talk about how much you wanted to get into MIT, but how you’ve come to terms with it.

The day after you all graduate, heavily advertise the fact that you got in.

How would your friends and family react?

“Go read it again. Are you sure they didn’t say rejected?”
reads it out loud
“Well, now what, you think you’re some hotshot?”
confused look
“See? It’s already gotten to your head. Why is my child so egotistic?”
baffled look

I’m so glad to see this thread is getting a lot of feedback. I guess we all have big dreams. :)

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”

I would dance around and scream “yes and in your face!!” to my sisters.

Who would you tell first?
Definitely my mom cuz she would be soo happy and brag to everyone else.

How would you tell people?

make my facebook status “Harvard 2017!! My life has just been made! =)” and it would probably get 100’s of likes cuz its been years since someone from my school went to Harvard

How would your friends and family react?
My friends and family will be soo happy and proud of me. My family will let me do whatever I want basically while my family will brag to my uncles, aunts, their friends, etc. While my friends would brag that their bff/friend is going to Harvard. The people I love the most love to show off and brag to others.

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”

Trust me, I’m not a crier. But I definitely would let the tears of joy flow.

Who would you tell first?

My parents.

How would you tell people?

“Have I heard back from anyone? Oh. Yeah. Just Harvard- I’m considering going, but I think I’m going to weigh my options first.”

Lulz but actually I’d just call my close friends and let them know after I calmed down.

How would your friends and family react?

My parents would be absolutely over the moon. I’m sure most of my friends would ben genuinely happy for me, but there would probably be some resentment coming from some of them.

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”

Surprised

Who would you tell first?

Parents

How would you tell people?

I’d tell my friends at school, the word would spread.

How would your friends and family react?

They’d be psyched

…That said, if I got into Harvard I wouldn’t attend. I rather dislike Harvard’s social climate, I would much rather go to a good school with a “work hard play hard” attitude, instead of Harvard’s “work really REALLY hard, play a little” attitude.

1. How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED” After spending about a minute in shock, I’d say, “I…got…accepted.” Pause Then I would run around my house screaming wildly about how I was accepted.

2. Who would you tell first? The first person to find out would be the first person that heard me screaming.

3. How would you tell people? “Eep I get accepted at HARVARD!!!” Run around the house like a 5-year-old with ADHD who just had a Red Bull

4. How would your friends and family react? My dad: “Oh.” My mom: “That’s great!” My sister (with big eyes): “Really?”

Personally I would much rather go to Yale than Harvard. Unfortunately my stats are way too low Maybe for grad school…

I would cry, scream, and run around my neighborhood like a delirious monkey.

Then I would wake up from my dream…lol

Princeton is my dream school, so I’m substituting that for Harvard.

1.
I would make sure I read it correctly by reading it over and over again. I would do that for about a minute and then I would get really excited and run around the house. I tend to do that when I’m excited. I have so much energy in me that I literally can’t stay still.

2.
I would tell whoever is with me. If I see my sister first, I’ll tell her. If I’m with my cousins or friends, I’ll tell them first.

3.
I would call my parents immediately after I calm down a little. With my cousins, I’d probably announce it at a party or something. With my friends, I’d probably go around school telling all of them and in the process, I’m sure other people will here and it’ll get around very quickly.

4.
Parents: “You’re funding my retirement.”
Sister: “Stop lying,” or “Go away.”
Friends: “EEEEEEEEEEEEPPP!” or “Of course you would get into Princeton.”
Cousins: “B…but…but… she seemed so stupid whenever we around her,” or “she got into Princeton and what have I done with my life?”

Well I got into my dream school, Cornell, (which i turned down for financial reasons)

I jumped up, hugged my friend and ran around the school yelling "Holy shi*!!! "

I told the people I was with

“I got into Cornell!!”

Dad: “My worst nightmare is coming true” Mom +friends: “Congratulations”!

Is this for an essay?

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”
First, I would stare at the letter in shock for about five minutes. Then I’d start to dance around, screaming, in my kitchen.

Who would you tell first?
My mom, because she’d be right next to me watching me open it.

How would you tell people?
I’d text my friends, call family, and maybe post a picture of the acceptance on Facebook.

How would your friends and family react?
I hope they’d be really happy for me.

I would cry. I’m not really much of a crier but I’m positive that I would bawl for a good fifteen minutes. Then I would probably go for a run while blasting new shoes by paolo nutini

I would call me best friend. Then I would run around my house and tell all five of my siblings (lol) and my parents.

I probably wouldn’t be able to resist posting a status and tweeting.

My friends would probably just be like “you would get in” they seem to think I’m some kind of genius (I’m not, I just work hard). My parents would probably be annoyed because they want me to go to northeastern (for merit money) and it would be hard for them to convince me not to go. The other people at my school that I don’t know would probably be a mix of awe and resentment.

^but this will never happen. Strictly speculation ahahaa

I would be overjoyed-with a stupid smile on my face. I probably start fantasizing and imagining about the future of my life.

Mom and Sister, then dad.

Facebook.

Other people with good grades from my school would be jealous. Idiots would be happy for me. Most of my friends would be jealous but still congratulate. Depending on which class, teachers will be either shocked or have expected it. My mom would tell people as it came up. My dad would call anyone he’s ever talked to and that person’s immediate family to tell.

How would you first react to the word “ACCEPTED”
WHAT THE **** OMG MOM DAD!!!

Who would you tell first?
Mom, dad, facebook

How would you tell people?
HOLY **** HOLY **** HARVARD 2016!!!

How would your friends and family react?
True friends: OMG WOW
Fake Friends: OMG WOW
Family: OMG WOW
Brother: Pfft, Stanford is better.

Hypothetical situation and anyways I’m not applying there.
