If you had to choose between Wheaton, Stonehill, Providence, Holy Cross or Merrimack which school would you choose and why

Holy Cross...excellent academics, good sports program, nice campus, good cohesion, loyalty, and school spirit. The city of Worcester isn't the greatest, but it has its moments. The others aren't in great college towns either.

The sort of thing you'd see in Worcester that you wouldn't see in the towns where any of the other schools (or anywhere else, for that matter): back in the 1970's I spent my freshman year at a now-defunct college near Worcester. One winter night I was in a Worcester bar near Holy Cross that was right out of a Bukowski novel. A grubby old guy with a bunch of teeth missing came in and sat next to me at the bar. He had a violin case on his lap. He said, "I've got a fiddle on my lap, but I'm NOT gonna to play it." This immediately prompted my friends and me to insist that he play it, and eventually others around us joined in the effort. The guy said if we bought him enough drinks, he'd consider it. Everybody around us pitched in and we bought him about 10 drinks (they were very cheap back then--especially in this sort of bar). We were rewarded with a rendition of "Wabash Cannonball" that still brings tears to my eyes. And I learned more about psychology from that bum than I did from my intro psych class.

providence- the city is awesome, big east sports.

Providence--go there for the sports? They don't have football. Man does not live by hoops alone.

hehe in my world they do!! as well as soccer, lacrosse, etc... nothing better than big east sports

soccer, lacrosse, intramural flag football...
