If you want to vote, check the rules beforehand.

If you live away from your parents’ place to attend college, you may choose to vote either at your college location or absentee at your parents’ place. In either case, you need to check the rules to make sure that you are not disenfranchised (e.g. by not having one of the specified kinds of photo ID in some states).

Thank you for posting this, I was just wondering about how I will vote when I go to college. Since I will be going to college in a very important swing state (Ohio), looks like I will register to vote in Ohio rather than vote absentee

Thanks for the info! I guarantee my school’s politics club is gonna make a huge deal about pushing for it, but as an OOS student it’s good to have the details.
