If you want to get into either management or marketing/sales for a tech company, is it still necessary to go to HSW etc. type of schools in order to make good money, or would a school with a strong regional presence be good as well? From what I've read, it seems like most people say that it's important to go to HSW because those schools lead to PE, VC, HF, etc., but if you're not too interested in those fields, is it still necessary to go there?

Also, not to be a money whore, but is there good money in those fields as well if you move up high enough? I mean, it seems like people only look at the investment banking or high-level consulting jobs for money, but can you still make big, but not huge money (i.e. around 200k or so) from other fields?
